15 years ago today, our entire State was shaken. Lakewood Police Officer Christopher Matlosz was assassinated on duty. Chris was a son, a fiancé, a friend, a teammate, and a great PBA member. His family, friends, and department remain in all our thoughts and prayers.

VIEW FROM PENN PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL SHOCK TRAUMA ICU 1 YEAR AGO TODAY 1 year ago today I was in the Shock Trauma ICU at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia. My heart would stop 30 times over 12 hours. I am forever blessed that God pulled me through those days. I am so thankful to my wife, my kids, my family, the outstanding team of doctors and nurses, and all those who offered prayers. That experience pushed me to tell the stories of a lifetime of miracles God has set in front of me. In three decades of policing, I have seen first hand the power of God. These stories of lives saved and disasters averted will leave you inspired to see the world through a different perspective. Join me December 5th in East Brunswick for this special night.

Had the chance to go to mass @StPatsNYC on Saturday. The priest gave a great homily touching on the humanity of all immigrants. He highlighted the countless immigrants who have come to St. Patricks Cathedral and NYC. #blessed

34 hours, 2 cancelled flights, 2 sold out trains, 6 hours sleeping at an airport = government shutdown. Those are the numbers my wife and I experienced trying to fly home this week. Thousands of people were stranded in different locations around the country by an unprecedented shutdown. While the numbers seem like the obvious headline, it was the workers at the airlines and airport who really were the story. It was a very challenging situation, but @united and @FLLFlyer employees did a great job. They were calm, compassionate, and communicated effectively when they knew accurate information. One gate agent said, “This is what I know now, but things age changing by the minute. As soon as I get more information I will update you.” I thought that line could be used by many of us. It showed care about our situation and the willingness to provide more information when he learned it. They retrieved our bags and ultimately coordinated connecting flights to get home. The airport employees were just as willing to provide assistance. They explained where a 24 hour diner was and when they expected flights to resume at the airport. Sleeping at an airport overnight was never on my bucket list, but the communication by all the workers we encountered was another lesson learned.

Great to be the host agency for @diocesemetuchen Blue Mass today. A lot of work by many in @SoBrunswickPD. Blessed to have my Dad and wife meet Archbishop James Checchio at the Mass.

Real miracles are around us every day. We just have to have faith to see them.

My favorite part of the job is interacting with our community. I had a great time speaking with our Citizen Police Academy on two nights and then talking to a high school class. We have a great profession with so much support. #MakeADifference

Praying for all the loved ones of those we lost from my hometown 24 years ago. That day is frozen in my memory. Helping those families in the weeks and months after the attacks is why we do what we do. Pray for all those impacted by this day.
