On this matter, Ibn Taymiyyah argued that if a person has the skills to bring justice and benefit to the people, then seeking authority is not just allowed; it can be a duty. Northern Nigeria needs strong leadership more than ever before. I liken the current situation in the North to a famine, particularly the one that occurred during the time of Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him). When he knew the gravity of the disaster and the scale of leadership involved, He asked for control over the storehouses because he knew he was "honest and knowledgeable". If Prof. Pantami is honest and knowledgeable, which I know he is, Why not.

This will tell you how empty some of these our Governors are. Imagine choosing your puppet over someone who has capacity to transform your state.
Dr. Adam Abba-Aji@AdamAbbaAji

PANTAMI VS JAMILU: THE GOMBE POLITICAL CONUNDRUM When you look at this situation honestly, the contrast is very clear. Prof. Isa Ali Pantami brings something that is difficult to manufacture in politics. He has a deep and emotional connection with people on the ground. His appeal cuts across communities and extends beyond Gombe because of his national exposure. People listen to him. People believe in him. That kind of organic support cannot be imposed or engineered. On the other hand, Jamilu Ishaku stands firmly on party structure and elite backing. He has the system behind him. He has the institutional support that comes from connections with the governor. That is important in politics, but it is not always enough when the people themselves are not emotionally invested. When it comes to experience, Pantami operates on a different level. His time at the federal level has given him exposure, depth, and a strong understanding of policy and governance. He carries the image of a thinker and a reformer. Jamilu, on the other hand, is more experienced within the local political system. He understands the internal workings of the state and the party. That gives him an advantage in navigating local structures, but it does not necessarily translate into broader vision or inspiration. Now, the real question is electability, and this is where things get very interesting. If the APC remains completely united behind governor Inuwa and his choice, then Jamilu stands strong within that structure. But politics is never that simple. If there is any crack, any dissatisfaction, any feeling among Pantami’s supporters that their voice was ignored, then the equation changes immediately. Pantami becomes a powerful alternative. If he decides to step out and mobilize, especially under another platform (ADC or NDC), this race stops being predictable and becomes a real contest. Public perception also plays a major role. Pantami is seen as intellectual and reform driven. Yes, some people find him intimidating, especially political elites. Jamilu is more of a safe choice for these elites. Jamilu could be easier for the establishment to manage. But this does not translate to winning the hearts of voters. This decision to pick Jamilu as “consensus” candidate carries real risks. It can alienate a significant base that feels deeply connected to Pantami. It can trigger protest votes. It can even push people to look elsewhere. Once that door is opened, opposition parties do not need to do much. They simply step in and benefit (Remember the historically good relationship between Gombe and Atiku). And this is the key point. If Pantami chooses to stay quiet, APC will likely coast through. But if he decides to act, if he steps forward with intention and clarity, then this election changes completely. What looked like a routine victory can quickly turn into one of the most competitive races the state has seen in years. May Allah choose the best candidate for the people of Gombe State. @ProfIsaPantami @ishakugomna @Mss_Deeynah @masuzafi @GovernorInuwa @officialABAT @OfficialAPCNg @ADCVanguard_ @realFFK @KwankwasoRM @atiku @PeterObi

Gombe is my second home, and it has a history of electing good governors. Unfortunately, Governor Inuwa Yahya has chosen Isyaku Gwamna, who is said to have been involved in the mismanagement of the Kano Electricity Distribution Company when he was MD, over an academic and successful politician, Prof. Ali Pantami, a former minister. The same way some people believe he performed poorly while serving as MD of KEDCO, critics argue that he may not be suitable for governor in Gombe State. The state deserves better, and the likes of Prof. Pantami should rule the state.

Some of Pantami’s critics have argued that consensus candidacy is undemocratic and contrary to fairness. Yet now that Pantami appears to be the victim of that same arrangement, they are applauding it and mocking him. The contradiction is obvious. Personal hatred, fake activism, fake principle.

You claim to want good governance and proper representation but the ticket you so much hate is the one having Mal Pantami on it as a gubernatorial candidate. Except good governance means something else, you’re simply a hypocrite, I will not even lace or sugarcoat this. You prefer a mediocre candidate to someone with a better CV and performance.

This is not true. Nothing like this happened. The Governor did not ask anyone to drop their ambition. Infact, the Gov. gave me a special recognition by inviting me to be among the speakers at the event. For your information, @TheoAbuAgada, you will never be successful with your evil agenda. If Allah (God) is with you, no evil plan will defeat you.

FLASH: Gombe state Governor, Inuwa Yahaya has asked Prof. Isa Ali Pantami to drop Guber ambition and support APC consensus candidate during a stakeholders meeting this night at the Gombe State Government House. Pantami according to sources, was not happy with this decision.

During El-Rufai’s mother’s funeral, @ProfIsaPantami used a few minutes at the central mosque to call for unity by speaking against enmity & malignant politics creating division. All the politicians involved were there. He stated that what unites us is greater than what divides us.

It rained in Makkah on the 30th and last day of Ramadan. All praises and thanks are due to Allah. May Allah make it a beneficial rain and answer our beautiful prayers. May Allah, the Ever-Living and the Self-Sustainer, heal our lands, be merciful to our departed parents and loved ones, overlook our shortcomings, and admit us into Jannatul Firdaus. #Ramadan #٣٠_رمضان

This is the night of the 27th of Ramadan, which has the highest probability of being the Night of Decree and Majesty (Laylatul Qadr). I will pray for you, and I beg you all to pray for me. May Allah, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustainer, answer all our prayers, forgive our departed parents and loved ones, bless our families, heal our communities, rescue the oppressed, subdue the oppressor, bring absolute peace, stability, and prosperity to our communities and nations, forgive our shortcomings, accept our good deeds, and make Jannatul Firdaus our final destination. #Ramadan #٢٦رمضان
