Many Iranians appear to want change, but the regime’s brutality and tight control have prevented widespread uprisings. If their safety were assured, more people would likely take to the streets.

@lrozen Energy security is a global concern. If this regime is left weakened but intact, it could create chaos in the region and beyond. The United States and Israel initiated this, and they should see it through.
English

For the sake of long-term energy security, it may be worthwhile to consider putting boots on the ground in Iran to remove the regime from power. This could be easier than some might think, given how widely the regime is reportedly disliked inside the country.

The fact is, the Saudi Air Force alone is capable of taking out entirely Iran’s power stations and oil and gas fields in a very short time. I hope things won’t escalate to that point.

@Doranimated Yes, neutralizing the missile and drone threat—by any means—will bring the war to an end.

Is this guy a liar or just stupid? The screenshot he posted contains the article's thesis: to end the threat Iran poses to every US base and its chokehold a fifth of the world's energy, we must crush the missile and drone teams. Everything else is secondary.

Meanwhile, over at @TheFP, @Doranimated is saying all we need to win a "lasting victory" is... wait for it... "occupying forces."

Hit the IRGC where it hurts most, missiles and drones bunkers. Targeting civilian infrastructure will only hurt the Iranian people.

Harsh words and warnings from Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan toward the Iranian regime. It is clear that Saudi Arabia is losing patience with Tehran.

. @FaisalbinFarhan : If the Iranians think that the Gulf states will not hold firm or respond, they are mistaken. They have to know what they are doing has consequences.
English

It is unlikely that any country in the region will be willing to engage with this regime in Tehran in the future. They have effectively burned all bridges, and its removal would serve the interests of both the Iranian people and the broader region.

Airstrikes should target Iran’s missile and drone arsenal. Neutralizing this threat would bring the IRGC to its knees. Hitting civilian infrastructure will hurt the Iranian people more than the regime. #IranWar

@sfrantzman I don’t think there is need to activate the defense pact with Pakistan.
English

Is this like Russia activating the alliance with France in 1914 after Germany gave Austria-Hungary the blank check on Serbia and then everyone mobilized thus necessitating mobilization across all the powers…
