Was he TEACHING the kid something? Something VERY valuable? About who makes their mark upon the world, and who does not? Oh sure, there will be those who talk aobut 'tone' and 'being nice' when you teach someome a very important lesson. You know what Trump learned long ago? Nobody fucking remembers the nice polite people when they mumble some advice to you. You think this kid would ever FORGET what the great hero Achilles said to him? No, he wouldn't. That's the point. What does the boy say? "I've seen the Thessalonian you're going to fight. He's the biggest man I've ever seen. I wouldn't want to fight him!" The boy is being HONEST. Achilles just looks down at him, then he says something TRUE, and he didn't sugar coat and he's not the kind of guy that gives a shit about 'tone' or 'politeness'. "That is why no one will remember your name." The way most people's brains are wired, and they never seek to change this - even if they are self-aware enough to recognize that they do this, is that they 'see the Thessalonian'... immediately all their mental activity and desires are bent on "how can I get OUT of having to fight this guy?" Their fear takes over. In their mind, all they see is defeat, death, not worth the risk. They want safety and comfort above all else. An ACHILLES responds very differently when he 'sees the Thessalonian'. What does an Achilles see when the Thessalonian presents himself for battle? A chance for glory. An opportunity to put his years of training and preparation to the test for a shot at greatness. Does he know he could lose? Well, of course he does. One slip, one mistake, that's him lying dead on the ground. But to HIM, is the risk worth it? It is. Because he WANTS something more than his own safety and comfort. Something drives him that doesn't drive most men. We currently live in an American culture where there has been a clever and quite concentrated attempt to DRIVE the 'Achilles impulse' out of the male population. Do not seek challenges. Stay in the comfort zone where its safe. Do not seek greatness, or to call attention to yourself, or to be different. Do not exhibit toxic masculinity. In the New American Golden Age, while we fix our corrupted elections, and repair the vast damage done to our country while a corrupt foreign cult had control of it by surreptitious means for the last 100+ years, we will need to focus raising up a new generation of young men with the ACHILLES IMPULSE. In other words...a great big heaping dose of that TOXIC MASCULINITY. SEEK GREATNESS. BELIEVE YOU ARE DESTINED FOR IT, AND THAT IT WILL NOT BE HANDED TO YOU, THAT YOU MUST DILIGENTLY TRAIN YOURSELF UP TO WHERE YOU CAN EARN IT. Be an Achilles. So that when you 'see the Thessalonian', you can't WAIT to fight him.

Just a little Tuesday motivation. 🩷 Lord, help me walk in gratitude today. Help me to see every blessing, big and small, and not overlook how good You have been to me. Your Word in Romans 8:28 promises that all things are working together for my good. Help me not to complain when I should be praising. Help me not to worry when I should be trusting. Remind me throughout this day that nothing in my life is wasted and that Your faithfulness has never failed me. Let thankfulness be my first response to everything I face today.
