Physios and nurses (ACCPs) can now run the intensive care unit with NO ICU consultant on site, relying only on REMOTE supervision.
The public should advocate for their critically unwell relatives in such an unsafe environment.

How on Earth is this in the best interests of the public?

Why is doctor replacement at EVERY LEVEL by HCPs without a medical degree even being allowed?!

+minimum of 2 year experience working as a doctor
So why
radiographer/physio/OT/nurse w/o medical education
2 years experience in base profession
Paid £60K to study+see patients like a doctor

@Justadulbloke @iDrSunny Trainees are paid Band 7 but band 7 can be 60k . It isn’t just experienced nurses going for these posts . Radiographers , OTs, Physios , paramedics, pharmacists anyone with a couple of yrs in a different profession can start ACP training seeing undifferentiated pts from day 1

If he is against Drs salaries increasing, then it logically follows that he thinks his members salaries should be decreased

It also seems crazy that PHEM has become a dedicated subspeciality you need to train in formally in order to take on such roles as a doctor, with very limited training places on the one hand & on the other we're apparently letting non-doctors do this unsupervised. Square that 🤷
