It bears repeating: you cannot seriously be an AI and technology enjoyer while fully aligning with today’s left. The modern left has become the political home of anti-technology, deceleration, overregulation, and reflexive AI panic. Every major leap forward is treated as a threat first and an opportunity second. AI should be seen as one of the greatest tools for abundance, medicine, education, productivity, and human flourishing. Instead, much of the left talks about it like it’s mainly a labor threat, a misinformation machine, or something that needs to be slowed down before it can change too much. At some point, you have to choose: progress or stagnation. Acceleration or fear. Building the future or endlessly trying to regulate it out of existence.

Scientists made fish trip balls with magic mushrooms. It helped the fish with anger management. The research was done on a mangrove rivulus, a small Caribbean fish that is famously highly aggressive and territorial. If a stranger fish gets put into a mangrove rivulus's tank, it gets mad and will dart and lunge to chase the new fish out. Psilocybin (the psychoactive compound in magic mushrooms) was added which the fish absorbed through the gills and skin. It chilled the fish out. > moved around 80-100 fewer seconds during the trial > 2 to 3 fewer angry lunges at the stranger fish Not all aggression was turned off, but the explosive attacks dropped. A lot of studies show mushrooms help with sadness and fear in mice and humans. Aggression has been understudied in modern psychedelic research, especially in social settings. Why it matters. A fish brain is old in evolutionary terms. Fish and mammals split off from each other something like 400 million years ago. If psilocybin can dial down aggression in a fish brain, the wiring for aggression has probably been conserved across that distance. The same brake could exist in humans.

This is not meant to excuse bad behavior of Democratic nations, but rather avoid living in a world where a totalitarian gov't has genie-like powers.

lol I think Antropic has some weird hate towards China... If you push Claude opus too hard it always sees China as dangerous and as should be avoided😂 I dont know why an Ai lab thinks it has a geopolitical analitical capability to give advice to a government😂 Fix your bias first

@KaiXCreator I'm happy using both. Claude seems quite a bit better lately. Codex is dragging, but I have it working on a complex codebase and not using fast mode. Skill issue maybe - but it was crushing it for me two weeks ago with same set up.

Their employees refused to sell. Tender came in undersubscribed. Both labs are headed public. Buy the OpenAI IPO, you're buying what insiders already cashed out of. Buy the Anthropic IPO, you're buying alongside the people still building it. Watch what they do. Not what they post.

@RonSwanonson Feels like a 2020-2024 discussion happening in 2026. Most IT and Finance professionals who have looked into BTC at least have a general understanding of it and the value proposition. Whether they agree with it is another story.
