Gold is getting slammed here, down 2.6%. I'm old enough to remember when gold prices would rally in the face of geopolitical fears. Now it trades more like a risk asset.

@CernBasher I am a visiting nurse. I drove 400 miles last week. This is a game changer for me. I can work double shifts because I will chart between patients or nap. I love my job but hate driving. I can't wait.

To think people are expecting the bubble to pop like it did in the dot com era Today’s Mag 4 P/E ratios: $META – 16x $GOOGL – 17x $AMZN – 24x $MSFT – 25x Dot-com bubble peak P/E ratios: Microsoft – 73x. Cisco – 200x+. Yahoo – 800x. The Nasdaq as a whole traded at a P/E of 200 at the peak of the dot-com bubble. Today’s “bubble” is trading at 16-25x earnings on companies generating hundreds of billions in real free cash flow. Today we have the most profitable companies on earth, $MSFT $GOOGL $META $AMZN reported beats on earnings, and you think we are in a bubble.

Many years ago I hurt my knee playing sports. I was referred to the orthopedist for one of the local pro teams. After keeping me waiting for 2.5 hours, he diagnosed a cartilage tear and recommended surgery. I was so mad at his manner and tardiness I left without scheduling. The next week I got a second opinion from a much younger doc who was likely more current on the recent medical literature. He looked at the same MRI. He said he could do surgery now but his advice was to wait 30 days and see if it healed on its own. It did. Medical reversal is when a practice that became widely used is later shown to be ineffective or even harmful. Examples like meniscus surgery show the need to keep gathering evidence. A not immaterial part of the practice of modern medicine doesn't improve health, and may be net harmful.

$KDK looks like someone actually dumping a lot of shares here, and shorts eating it up (if price holding). maybe a first since de-spac. 🙈 though that contradicts borrow fee ticking up so high... (unless MM buying for inventory)

@notfncladvice @AlexfromBabylon Genuine question: what happens when other systems get to a stretch of road that is 'off road'? Shouldn't the system handle both. This happened with my drive assist Honda this weekend while skiing in the mountains. It failed when we got to a gravel area.

$KDK Willing to stake my entire online reputation on that Kodiak will become the autonomous ground logistics US prime for vehicles and that all US defense primes will work with them. It’s very simple. Aurora / Waabi cannot drive off-road and niche autonomy defense plays cannot drive on public highways and lack commercial scale. Kodiak is the only player that can do both at scale. Signs are already there that US military views this the same. This is basically the ground version play of $MRLN.

I’m proud to share @KodiakRobotics, @epirus and @GD_LandSystems are leading the way in showcasing what Physical AI looks like on the front lines. We unveiled the Leonidas autonomous ground vehicle this morning at AUSA’s Global Force. This is a defining moment for dual-use technology. #AUSA #GlobalForce #PhysicalAI Learn more here: kodiak.ai/news/kodiak-ep… Watch the video:

The popularity of a Professor Jiang is a signal in and of itself. Prophets of doom only become as popular as he has when the investment public wants to feed their sense of despair through seemingly intellectual analysis. In all my time in the markets these types of wide sweeping pessimistic predictions of destruction have been correct exactly zero times. He won't be the first but he we will prove to be a wonderful lesson in buying panic lows when this year is all said and done.

@AlexfromBabylon So, now it's a drone play, a humanoid robotics play, on top of being an autonomous driving (not just trucks) play. Got it.

$KDK Select quotes from powerful CEO opening statement on the Earnings call: We believe Physical AI represents one of the most significant technology shifts in modern history. Physical AI is transforming how work gets done in the physical world, and self-driving is leading this transformation. Autonomous systems will increasingly power how goods and people move, how freight is delivered, and how packages reach people's doorsteps. The Kodiak Driver is at the forefront of this revolution. Scale matters, and we are building the system to scale. The key to deploying Physical AI is harnessing the power of data center scale AI, and then optimizing it to run on low power compute that can fit on a range of form factors. We've already solved that core challenge by building the Kodiak Driver to be a modular Physical AI platform that is commercialized today. The same core system that powers long-haul freight is built to extend into anything that moves, from cars to pickup trucks, buses, and delivery vans to even other form factors such as drones, construction equipment, and humanoids. While we remain focused on our core trucking strategy, this platform leverage has the potential to significantly expand our long-term addressable market. My take: If you listen to this call, this is not small scale second player. This company has grand long term ambitions powered by an single form factor autonomous platform thriving in complex unstructured environments. This company reminds me of Rocket Lab when it was a few billion market cap in terms of execution and ambition.

@AlexfromBabylon The most intriguing thing said was with regards to the idea this technology is agnostic in that it can be used beyond trucks in drones and robotics etc. Do you have any idea what he meant by that? I am sorry. I am paraphrasing.

$KDK Looking forward to color on this partnership tonight on the earnings call!
Alexander@AlexfromBabylon

$KDK BREAKING: PACCAR JUST SAID ON THEIR 10 FEB ANALYST DAY THAT KODIAK IS A PARTNER, PUT THE VEHICLE IN THE IR SLIDE DECK AND HIGHLIGHTED THEIR WORK IN THE PERMIAN WITH ATLAS TO ANALYSTS USING PACCAR TRUCKS OPERATING WITH NO SAFETY DRIVERS ON PRIVATE ROADS! Honestly I did not want to post this before I secured my full position, because once Kodiak and PACCAR also formally announce their partnership this stock will easily gap up 50%+ in days. The main gripe with Kodiak is that they supposedly have no truck OEM deals and as such should be a small market cap, but like I said before you have to go beyond FinX into the industry to look for the real clues. Kodiak is also conservative in what they announce and what not. Basically during their analyst day PACCAR confirmed they are working with Kodiak. Aurora is their lead partner to develop the AVP, but it was always built for a multi partner strategy which includes Kodiak. Below I attached printscreen that they are talking for years about Kodiak, but in the latest updates this has intensified. Heck the Kodiak truck for Atlas Energy is also included in the PACCAR presentation on the slide next to $AUR. (Stack AV is an earlier stage start-up not doing pilots anytime soon) In fact management also mentioned it in the remarks: > Maintain an multi-partner strategy, including on- and off-higway solutions (off-highway clearly hints at Kodiak) > The clearest clue: We also operate in the Permian Basin right now under a different set of situations that don't require the same level of fail operational because of the speeds. This is a 100% direct reference to Kodiak's deployment with Atlas Energy in the Permian Basin, since nobody operates off-road and the truck is also in the slide deck. Also note that as in "We", implying this is happening with approval and monitoring from PACCAR. > Said they want to integrate different drivers This provides undeniable evidence directly from PACCAR management that Kodiak has a commercial partnership with them. Interestingly PACCAR indirectly approves Kodiak going driver out on private roads on truck owned by Atlas, but requires Aurora to have a safety driver on public highway. My guess that this is probably, because Atlas/Kodiak is operating on private property with no civilians and limited media attention if accidents occur. Also the Kodiak / PACCAR partnership is not formally announced, so all in all that creates less legal risk plus PR risk for PACCAR hence why they approve this configuration. They also said lower speeds make it less risky, but this is the Permian. Everything is dangerous there.. Seems like an excuse to justify. It's just not formally announced yet, but safe to say Kodiak secured their spot on the PACCAR truck OEM platform once it launches. Also PACCAR has a huge off road trucking business and Kodiak is the sole player there, so it was inevitable, but again this partnership is both for on road and off road. How and when it will be announced formally in a PR I have no clue, but I know what I need to know. Kodiak has an trucking OEM partner, whether FinX likes it or not. Direct quotes from management during the PACCAR Analyst day dated 10 february 2026 The underlying technologies have matured, and the AI drivers continue to expand their features and operating domains. We are seeing more commercial traction as it becomes clear the technology is no longer always five years away. The PACCAR Autonomous Vehicle Platform plays a central role in the advancement of autonomy. We maintain a multi-partner strategy, including on- and off-highway solutions, and we continue to be impressed with Aurora, our lead partner on the AVP. We also operate in the Permian Basin right now under a different set of situations that don't require the same level of fail operational because of the speeds. Autonomy is here. It's pulling loads without anybody in the truck every day. "There have been a lot of feints and moves, and I think that we don't wanna be the tip of the spear in that case. We wanna prioritize safety and effectiveness of the capability while we develop it. Also different than the car industry is that the partnerships we have with, like, Aurora, Stack, Kodiak. We need to watch their development curves, too, and see how they play in this space and come along with that. And then, as John and team have developed an autonomous vehicle platform that can integrate those different drivers, it gives us a space that I think is unique. And that, again, the make, build, buy, partner approach to things allows us to be participative without it being like the kind of capital raises that, say, Waymo is doing. And it allows us to watch technology, be ready when it's there, and commercialize it to our advantage when that time happens."

$KDK big opex coming up (after earnings). almost 5M shorts here now, while daily volume drops to 200-400k. shorts & MMs can't have the $10s go ITM, but running out of ammo (no shares + high fees). they need a lot of sellers. should be interesting.
