Apparently there are people who wake up before their alarm… and just get up. Just one alarm. No snooze. No struggle. Explain yourselves. How do you do that?

@LisaBritton Why men? At our school there’s plenty but I wouidn’t say they are better than female teachers.

I believe more male teachers could help fix so many problems… We need more male teachers! How can we do this?

@DeputyGrocott I love having flexibility to choose your own texts. I read The Final Year, knew my class would love it and they absolutely did. I’d hate to not be able to do this.

It makes me sad that some schools use a scheme for writing meaning that the texts they use with the children are prescribed to them. I love it when I read an awesome children’s book and then am able to use it in my English lessons.

Kind of love this $15 dress from the 70’s that I found out goodwill but all my friends hate it! Is it that bad? Need honest opinions. I know my opinion is the only one that should matter, but I want to look beautiful on my wedding day! I also found a tag on this dress indicating that it was made by women in a women’s union in the U.S., and I feel like that special historical context may be clouding my judgement. I love the idea of the dress and how unique it is, but a few friends have said it looks “matronly.” It was only $15 so would love to hear from some unbiased girlies! Credit - niamh Duncan

@ValTatum3 @adamboxer1 Absolutely. I have use a random selector when I’m not getting many volunteers. It’s not done in a pressurised way. I just encourage them to give it a go. The more you do it, the more the children are okay with it. It’s the environment you create that matters and how you respond.

@adamboxer1 No teacher should presume that they know better than their colleagues. Do what works for you and your classes.

Teachers should never do anything at random. No lollipop sticks, no spinners. No "phone a friend" and certainly no chucking a ball around the room. Be deliberate and choose wisely.

@jonnybid For proofreading, start at the end of the text and read each sentence aloud working back sentence by sentence. It stops them getting into the flow of reading what they intended to write as opposed to what’s on the page. 🧡

@jonnybid Lots of reading aloud in every writing lesson. Read your best sentences out to the clas, read your whole paragraph out to your partner etc. When they read it out, they usually start to notice the errors in punctuation and sense.
