This Memorial Day, consider donating blood in memory of those who served and sacrificed. Just one hour can help save lives, and your donation is especially needed as supplies dip during the holiday weekend. Schedule your appointment at bit.ly/4n0YRXk #BloodworksNW

@antiAntiperson Yeah, that webcast felt more like a commercial than an actual launch stream. Until T-4mins, they've only shown the actual rocket for just two minutes or so overall, with almost 40 minutes of other things which were mostly already known stuff or plain advertisements.

@PallottaPedro That is thousands of gallons of gasoline/diesel that that SpaceX is not having to have brought in--replaced by the powerline from Brownsville and/or onsite solar

Absolutely. If you watch any EVA on the ISS you will periodically hear the CapCom ask the astronauts to perform a glove check. The outer surface of the ISS, including the handrails are exposed to MMOD (MicroMeteorite Orbital Debris) and the craters left by these microscopic impacts are very sharp. Also the gloves have fewer layers of material between the pressurized suit volume and the vaccum of space (16 layers for the suit and as few as 3 for portions of the glovevper nasa.gov/centers-and-fa…)

@Cmdr_Hadfield @Astrolab_Space Decades ago, Sotheby’s auctioned Russian space memorabilia, including a glove torn by cosmonaut stuck outside the spacecraft. Are gloves a danger point in space wear?

Testing the next gen lunar surface space suit. It's easy to climb into (through the back), has good mobility, the gloves work fine. We were evaluating the interfaces with the @Astrolab_Space rover - launching to the Moon later this year. Great to see and experience the new legacy of the @Axiom_Space suit in their Houston test rig.

To be fair, SpaceX had not done enough vacuum chamber testing to realize that they knew regenerative cooling nozzle would vent out propeller after engine cut off But yeah. I remember video from that flight and it was a real kick in the gut to see the video from the stage tumbling

@MorganWKhan @SpaceX Permitting and setting up a launch site that can shatter windows several miles away anywhere near a metro area is going to be a no go on that.

@SpaceX Houston should be next after the Cape IMHO. Logistically the JSC payload processing facility is there and can help with cargo readiness. There should be a build site there as well for jobs and more throughput to send ships to Japan, and the Cape.

Hello. I took part in the first public covid vaccine study through my healthcare provider in Seattle, WA (the two part Pfizer vaccine) in June 2021. I was the very first to receive the vaccine at my health care provider for the study (Kaiser WA) I have received an annual booster every year since. I have had no ill effects, and the two times I did contract the virus (October 2024 and July 2024) I had mostly mild symptoms and likely no significant long term effects from those infections. If the vaccination is supposed to do something sinister, I've not discovered it.

Welcome to the club! We had our Tesla Wall charger installed within a couple months of purchasing our Model Y LR in early 2024. 10 cents for a kWh (that gives us 3-4 miles range) and occasional Supercharging on trips has saved us over $5000 vs paying for gasoline. And with the 7.2 kW solar array we had installed back in 2021, on a good sunny day we can say that our car drives on pure solar power.

I’m pretty excited for our 2026 Tesla Model Y to arrive. Getting our home charger ready to install. For those who’ve done it, what did you pay for installation? I already have a 50 amp breaker in place.
