The way I read this: Sweeney can call Hagens up, but he's only going to do so if Sturm is comfortable playing him. Basically, he's not going to force Sturm to play him if Sturm says "I have 12 other forwards I trust more" in the middle of a playoff race.

🧐 GMs job is to make roster moves, was a question when Bruce was here who was making these decisions on call-ups, was always told this is always Don’s final decision. Doubt Don is losing power or passing that to a first year coach so..

My take on the Hagens stuff goes only as far as checking to see if he signed, finding that he hasnt yet, and going right back to what I was doing. Itll work out and there is truly no rush.

If they want Geekie to drive his own line they need to take Steeves and Mikey off of it. Poitras or Lysell would fit perfect there, Minten is the two way guy and they need another passer. When Hagens comes up and takes the 1st line LW, Khuzy and Poitras should be 3rd line LW.

Here’s a trade that I think will help both teams: The Bruins are getting a 6 foot 5, 220 pound shutdown defensemen who has been a staple on the Leafs blueline alongside Morgan Rielly, arguably the top defensive pair in the NHL this year 🔥🔥 The Leafs are getting an unproven prospect in Fraser Minten and a 1st round pick in 2026. Leafs have fallen out of the playoff race so it makes sense for them to sell off some of their veteran players. Thoughts on this mock trade???
