@aweary You should’ve shown this to me before we met! But I agree. After working with and meeting you, you are a nice guy. Were you starting to have doubts? lolol

#a11y got a shout-out at #f8! Here is a sneak peek of the project I’ve been working on! We will visually and functionally block inaccessible elements when building on the new Facebook.com 🙅🏻‍♂️🔴

@souporserious Glad to hear you had some immediate wins! Yes, we cover many different violation types. Missing label is an excellent category to address, so you’re 🎯!

@jwyung Thank you! It's immediately had benefits 🙌 much easier to spot errors now! Curious if you've been using your setup for other errors? We're currently exploring how we can do something similar for missing labels on checkbox/radio components.

Inspired by how Facebook handles accessibility violations, I added a similar dev error to our React kit at work to help raise accessibility issues ⚠️

@aweary @sarahmei We have many efforts that address “the basic, less-shiny accessibility work”. Not only are we enforcing building with accessibility from the start, but we are also enforcing the maintenance.

Facebook’s core features are unusable for blind people for weeks at a time, while their engineers work on shiny new accessibility features, like using AI to generate alt-text for images. I guess nobody there can be bothered to do the basic, less-shiny accessibility work.

I have to unfollow/mute some of you. The bad faith commentary and politics and bad news is affecting my mental and physical health. It’s the worst kind of denial, but I need it. And while I’m on holiday dammit.

@threepointone And landing a stack of diffs feels as satisfying as using the long Tetris block to instantly clear rows of blocks. Actually... it’s more satisfying. 😏

I bet I could make some *serious* cash by implementing stacked diffs for git, and fb's gui tooling for the same. (ex-fbers, consider this a startup idea. I'd pay.)

Love to play the game of: Why is my computer frozen, why is Spotify somehow still able to play music, taunting me, and finally, should I risk rebooting or wait

" #SLACK SHARES JUMP IN #TRADING DEBUT" ... The company’s stock opened at $38.50, which is 48% above a so-called reference price of $26. That gives it a fully diluted valuation of about $23.2 billion. So far, the stock traded as high as $42. wsj.com/articles/slack… #IPO $WORK
