Suicide watch and restrictive housing for Cole Thomas... Of course. If not, someone could kill him just to be famous. He rushed through metal detectors like OJ Simpson in a Hertz Commercial and shot a Secret Service uniformed officer in an assassination attempt. “I’m sorry,” the judge told Allen. “Whatever you’ve been through, I apologize for that now.” A Federal Judge apologizing to a would be assassin. I have seen it all. #WHCD #ColeAllen

True. Both our narc dogs & explosives dogs in the Army were trained to sit to signify an “alert.” So it does depend on how the K9 was trained. Our Kennel-master used to really emphasize recognizing “significant change of behavior” to our handlers & emphasizing their obligation to allow the K9 to investigate.

As someone who has ran an explosives/firearms detection K9, I disagree. Density is irrelevant. These K9s can smell single bullets, GSR, pistols, rifles, ak47s. Hence why I said, it very well could have been an explosives K9, with a firearms detection certification Also. That’s not uncommon.

@k9_cpt @OldeWorldOrder @james_jinnette1 Yeah but with that density of firearms I doubt a firearm detection dog would be effective, with all the plainclothes multi agency leos. Those are more for a place like a mall.

To all K9 officers on here: What am I missing? How does this happen? The dog seems to CLEARLY alert to Cole Allen, the officer sees his alert and ignores it, seconds later Cole runs out. This all could have been stopped by this officer. Am I wrong?

‘In odor’ means he detected whatever he’s trained to search for and was within proximity. If this was an Explosives K9, he could also have been trained to detect GSR (gun shot residue) as well as live firearms. But based on his change of behavior and how he circled back to ‘source’ aka the suspect, the K9 clearly knew and was detecting.

@k9_cpt @CollinRugg So it sounds like it’s extremely rare for a trained explosive-sensing dog to give a falsified positive. So rare that you would search regardless. Correct?

A K9 appeared to be suspicious of White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting suspect Cole Allen but was pulled away just seconds before Allen charged through security. The dog was seen following Allen through a doorway but was pulled back by its handler. Immediately after the handler turned away with the dog, Allen was seen charging through security. What a massive failure on every level.

To be fair, We don’t know what his ‘alert’ may be. My K9 sits for narcotics, but he stands and stares at a door for a building search for a person (he was laser trained to do this and be quiet, and then recall to me). But I agree, that circling back was commitment. Should have been investigated for sure.

@0hour1 Technically he did not signal an alert. However, he DID demonstrate a significant change of behavior which should have been addressed by the handler by opening the door…

I mean I can’t speak for the handler. But if there was a ‘false alert’, I would have a few questions. One being, is there the possibility of a ‘residual odor’. A ‘residual odor’ is not technically a false alert. Regardless, whenever my K9s have an indication, especially a certified K9, I conduct a search. Prime example right here in this video. IF by chance the K9 had a false alert, I would wonder if it was even the K9s fault in general. Sometimes we handlers may unknowingly misread the dog, therefore triggering a ‘false alert’. In my opinion, and in my experience, if my K9 hits… I’m conducting my lawful search. I would never be able to sleep knowing I missed something like this.

@k9_cpt @CollinRugg Can you comment on the likelihood of the dog having given false alerts earlier in the evening which might have caused the handler to be less vigilant?

I just want to point out to anyone asking ‘why didn’t they just set the dog on the guy’. While, Yes, every dog is knows how to bite… 1) NOT every K9 is Patrol Certified and trained. It’s completely different from a dog ‘bite’. This takes a lot of buildup. Not only does the dog need to know how to apprehend the suspect, but maintain a grip on the suspect and literally ‘hold’ him in place for his handler/backup to come get him. 2) sending a non-certified apprehension/patrol k9 is not only a safety issue, it’s a legal issue too. We train our patrol k9s for chaos. And what I mean by chaos is, in training, we may have a ‘decoy’ in a suit as the target, but have other handlers/officers walking around as passerby’s. Because even if the k9 knows who the target is, in a high pressure or real life situation, an untrained K9 could accidentally bite the wrong person. There is a lot that goes into K9 work. While it may be cool to ‘send your k9’, there are protocols and procedures that MUST be implemented first. Also, This could have been a single purpose K9. Or an Explosives/Firearms. I don’t know the k9 or the handler, but just looking at it from a k9 handler perspective. I’ve run BOTH dual purpose and single purpose K9s. It’s clear - this K9 was ‘in odor’.

🚨🇺🇸 K9 footage from the WHCD: the dog was clearly suspicious of Cole Allen... Handler pulled him off. Seconds later, Allen breached. Trust the dog. Always trust the dog... and fire the handler!
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

🇺🇸 US Attorney Jeanine Pirro just released footage that halts the friendly fire narrative around WHCA shooting. The video appears to show Cole Allen rushing a checkpoint while firing a rifle. The evidence seems undeniable at this point.

UPDATE: Cole Allen Assassin Video footage shows a well trained K-9 actively trying to alert its handler to the shooter. Instead, the K-9 officer simply walks away. Just seconds later, Cole Allen charged through the security perimeter, locked and loaded. Straight up incompetence.. 🤦🏻‍♂️ rumble.com/v798hf8-cole-a…
