@Raymo_Joe32 They usually start in graduate roles in such technical positions where they learn things on the job, most places have robust early career training programmes and aren’t too strict on the degree subject. Then they work their work up and get the necessary certifications.

@ManCaveUg For both professionals & No professionals there’s magic in being reliable, accountable, responsive & Flexible despite how long you have stayed in that working place. That makes you an asset and a resource to the decision makers.

@sk_bongomin93 We waste alot of brain power making conscious decisions everyday. Save some by delegating some of these decisions (to the wife or PA) or pre-making these decisions (like what to wear)

Uganda Climbs to 3rd Position in Africa’s Financial Markets Rankings, Takes Lead across East Africa
Uganda overtakes Nigeria to rank third in @Absa Africa Financial Markets Index 2025, driven by balanced gains across market depth, foreign exchange access, regulation, macro stability and legal standards.
@BOU_Official Governor Michael Atingi-Ego and PSST @rggoobi say deeper, more inclusive capital markets are now critical to sustaining growth.

Bwana @spirejim, while I respect your attitude and approach, I vehemently disagree with it and would not encourage anyone to propagate it. First, do you think that 'strugglers' against bad governance are supposed to be shielded from criticism or scrutiny? Two, as a scholar, do you think the 'struggle against bad governance' is not a fertile or suitable field for scholarship (by 'disinterested' scholars or not)?
Three, if 'strugglers' are shielded from scrutiny or put differently, are allowed to ascend to power with fragile skins and brittle egos, are we not in a vicious cycle of grooming and fighting dictators? How do we put an end to it?
English

The problem with coming up to fight bad governance in Uganda is that many people will look at it as your exclusive responsibility to do so. They’ll then sit aside and start theoretically analysing and criticising your efforts - what you are doing right or not. While they are affected by the same problems you are fighting, it is not their primary duty to do anything about the problems beyond playing like linesmen and disinterested scholars. Even under harsh political environments, they’ll call you weak and mock you for being beaten by a system you should be joining hands to face. That is how even those who try end up quietly withdrawing.
My attitude is to respect, support and encourage those who try to do what I can’t do but that I find necessary to be done. Let everyone add what they can, not just feeling entitled to being saved by another perfect person.
