Some people are triggered as always. They forget I'm a Punjabi. My Nani was from Lahore. I get the trauma of partition. Heck it kinda fuels my fire. But I do not suffer from this main character syndrome. Heck Sindhis got the worst deal of the partition if you want to know the reality. They never behave like Punjabis and Bengalis.

There are always tons of excuse. Coastal areas don't magically create prosperity. Look at Andhra Pradesh & Naidu. Inviting industries by giving land free. Why is punjab not doing the same ? Haryana based factories would be happy to expand if they get land at cheaper cost. The freight corridors were implemented precisely to over come the lack of access to sea. Punjab will not go for industrialisation because the farmers controlled votebanks cannot think beyond free money flowing via MSP.

Why do Punjabis and Bengalis have such a main character syndrome?

They talk Panjabiyat,1984 justice, or cultural issues on Indian platforms but never cross the line india drew for them. Why? Because open Khalistan advocacy tanks careers inside India, invites legal heat, and alienates the core audience. India treats the Khalistan movement as a national security threat and these kind of celebrities are the part of Indian propaganda against Panjab’s sovereignty. These artists aren’t secret revolutionaries biting their tongues. They’re pragmatic businessmen repping Panjab as a proud part of India. They raise issues like farmer laws, water, 1984 but reject the #sovereignty. Most mainstream #Panjabi_singers love their roots, cash the cheques, and stay inside the Indian framework. They have spines for cultural assertion and selective grievances, but not for carving out a sovereign Panjab.
