@Jane_Doe82 No one to watch over the forest…easier to destroy and sell for lumbar. It’s heartbreaking.

@sfchronicle @davetroy This is REALLY bad for fire 🔥 season!

The Trump administration announced this week it will shut down six of eight U.S. Forest Service research facilities in California as part of a major national reorganization that could leave the state underequipped to manage escalating wildfire and drought threats. sfchronicle.com/california-wil…

Seven dogs stolen from their owners have gone viral after escaping from an illegal transport truck and making their way home. They traveled around 17 km together, led by a corgi across highways and fields, now safely back with their respective owners..🐶🐾🥺❤️

@CollinRugg Why is the government not funding air traffic control? I heard there was only 1 controller at that time. That’s incredibly dangerous for a major city. What is going on?
English

NEW: New video footage captures the moment an Air Canada jet and a fire truck collided at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
Here is what we know:
- The plane’s two pilots sadly died.
- 41 passengers and crew members were taken to the hospital.
- Audio from the air traffic tower suggests the controllers may have been distracted by an earlier incident at the airport, according to the New York Times.
- Two officers in the fire truck were injured.
- This is the first fatal accident at LaGuardia Airport since 1992.
- Passenger Jack Cabot says: “The plane landed pretty hard, you heard a loud bang and suddenly everything was out of control. The plane was veering back and forth. No one was driving at that point.”

Please share this. Libraries are important to society.
Tal✨they/them@talyaTheeEnby
please get a library card even if you won’t use it because cities will look at library statistics and use that to decide to keep libraries open and properly funded

@joey_tuccio @MayorOfLA That’s cruel to keep dogs like that!
English

And here’s one more video of the night. We rescued one of these dogs. Another one was stolen and the owner retrieved. A third was rescued by another rescue. The fourth one was never seen again. @MayorOfLA says this is not neglect. This was the summer in LA on Skid Row.

@HenryForLA @metrolosangeles Well that’s a lie. I live in WEHO. I just had a homeless guy 3 weeks ago try to break into my house in the middle of the night. Called the cops an he was arrested. I FEEL INCREDIBLY UNSAFE! There’s so many male homeless on drugs, out of their minds. I don’t walk at night.
English

Currently riding the bus to a Super Bowl event in WeHo. It showed up within a minute of me getting to the bus stop right by my home. Everything is clean and feels very safe. I don’t have to worry about traffic or parking. @metrolosangeles is terribly underrated!

@emily_hoeven It’s time to force treatment and do tough love. Our politicians need to put treatment first and not housing.

@AngelenoInsight The LA Board of Supervisors should not approve this. They are bankrupting the city.
English

@moseskagan It’s the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors fault. They have all the power in LA, more than the mayor. They refuse to hold people breaking the law accountable especially if they are homeless. Things need to change with how much power they hold. The city needs better management.
English

LA suffering from a plague of theft of copper wiring, knocking out our street lights and requiring very expensive repairs.
As usual, because many of the members have a defective understanding of human nature, our city council is exploring every possible solution (solar, alarms, etc.) instead of the obvious one:
1. Recognizing that thefts like this are not random, but rather the work of a relatively small number of career criminals, and
2. Creating "honeypots", having police stake them out, arresting those career criminals, and jailing them for very long periods of time
(Very depressing that our political class seems to need to relearn lessons ~all civilized societies have known for literally thousands of years.)

@MuseZack The Pitt is fantastic. There were some episodes where I cried so hard. It depicts life. The acting is beautiful on that show.
English

I know some people are mad at this, but it feels more like an overdue swinging of the pendulum away from Prestige Television and its accumulated clichés. It's the Academy saying "Hey, remember television? Wasn't it great? Let's do TV shows again."

Real talk: Democrats should just admit that some politicians have been way too lenient in releasing dangerous criminals from prison these last few years.
Just a few of the crimes committed by people they let out early:
- Violent assault
- Sexual assault of a child
- Solicitation of a minor
- Possession of child pornography
- Domestic abuse
- Aggravated DUI and reckless homicide
- Attempted murder
- Stalking
- Burglary

The Federal Reserve is among the foremost drivers of inequality in America.
By failing to deliver on its inflation mandate, the Fed allowed class and generational disparities to grow worse, expanding the divide between asset-owners and lower-income Americans.
The Fed must regain its independence and stop serving the wealthy at the expense of everyone else.
