What will we do Monday morning? My take home points from #SABCS22 - limiting and oversimplifying an incredible amount of high-quality research to fit in a few slides @OncoAlert #bcsm @SABCSSanAntonio

@HumanTestSample @timdavis640 @DarylTractor @ketaminh But your taxes don’t go to GPs. They are not gov’t employees. They are small business owners struggling with cost of living crisis too. The rebate for your consult does not cover their expertise, knowledge, time, compassion, reception staff, overheads, insurance, etc etc.

@timminchin I liked it @timminchin. But admit I am sad you no longer identify as a comedian and was recently complaining why you hadn’t found time to summarise the whole pandemic / vaccine situation in one pithy song. It’s not too late…?

Beautiful and poignant writing from ⁦@DrKGregorevic⁩ - vulnerability to covid comes in many forms - age, frailty, immunosuppression - or terrible socioeconomic and health inequality. We are failing these communities… still. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Hope everyone is ok! Some food for thought for clinicians on this shakey quakey day: "Ultimately the greater challenge is not biomarker discovery, rather it is defining the clinical utility of any biomarker." Well done @kate_e_dunn 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 authors.elsevier.com/a/1dnLE3QE--Ni…

@sandylanceley @DrEricLevi I honestly think most medics are sticking to the boring but important narrative: “stay home, get vaccinated”. I’m not ‘front line’ but repeating this to my small audience is all I can do for my cancer patients who are high risk for Covid19.

@kate_e_dunn @DrEricLevi So not one medic in Sydney is prepared to put their name to an unfolding crisis in our hospital system? That defies belief. If things were as bad as this reddit post suggests, dozens would be speaking out, it would be unethical not to.

Victorian Department of Health
Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 significantly reduces your chance of going to hospital. Of people with COVID-19 who are currently being treated in hospital, almost all of them are unvaccinated and none of them are fully vaccinated.

@SharnelleVella Sharnelle’s faithful peeps - pls get vaccinated ASAP - don’t wait for Pfizer! Please protect yourselves, your loved ones, your work mates and the more vulnerable community members who are more susceptible to the virus, or who can’t mount a good response to the vaccine

@ktambui I often pre-empt and normalise #scanxiety for my patients with cancer and I wonder if this helps… following your PhD with interest !

Scanxiety is not a new concept, and now we have data to show it. 55% of people with w/ advanced cancer (n=222) experience scanxiety around a CT scan. For anyone out there having scans: Scanxiety is real. You are not alone. rdcu.be/cq6Kx
