Carney looks good in photo ops. That’s what polished global bureaucrats are trained to do. But photo ops are not leadership. They are packaging. Talk to people who have actually worked with Pierre Poilievre and Mark Carney. Not just watched clips. Not just admired a suit and a smooth voice. Worked with them. Pierre Poilievre is sharp, prepared, direct, and relentless. He knows files, asks hard questions, and does not hide behind consultant fog. Carney gives off the polished adult-in-the-room vibe, but that is not the same as judgement. A resume is not a character test. A title is not wisdom. And charisma in front of cameras tells you very little about how someone operates when the room is closed and the consequences are real. The lazy take is: “Carney looks adult. Poilievre doesn’t.” The better question is: who actually understands the country, the cost of government, and the pressure ordinary people are under? Because Canada does not need a smoother photo op. It needs someone who knows what he is doing.
