A part 6 warrant giving them permission to listen into my personal conversations. Someone contacted me yesterday, wanting to give information on corruption. Would only use Telegram. It doesn't matter what you use, the cops (and intel services can see it). And you may never know. Take Stingray. (which is probably what they used for my phone) A “Stingray” (cell-site simulator) isn’t just surveillance, it’s a fake cell tower. Cost? Roughly $100K–$500K per unit, and with full setups you’re into $500K–$1M. Military-grade tech, in local policing for decades. What it does: - Forces nearby phones to connect so it can listen to your calls and read your texts - Captures identifiers (IMSI/IMEI) - Tracks location and movement - Maps networks of devices - Sweeps up everyone in range, not just a target What it does NOT do: - It does not read Signal, Telegram, WhatsApp, iMessage - It does not break end-to-end encryption - It does not access your phone’s screen or files So how do encrypted apps ever get read? Not through Stingray, through everything around it. Metadata, Device access, Targeted exploits, or even weak networks. Yes, real-time surveillance is possible, but not by intercepting messages. It happens when the device itself is compromised. Live screen viewing, Keystroke logging, Messages read as they appear on your screen, even Mic/camera activations. At that point, encryption is irrelevant, because they're literally watching the decrypted message on your phone. It's called the 'endpoint.' So encryption didn’t fail, the endpoint did. Now here’s the part no one talks about. Try finding a “Stingray warrant” in Canada. You won’t, because they’re almost never called that. They'll be called “cell-site simulator” or “mobile device identifier." In reality: - Applications are often sealed or heavily redacted - Language is deliberately vague - Disclosure is minimal And the real blinder. In the U.S., devices from L3Harris Technologies came with NDAs agencies were told not to reveal use, even in court. It protects LE because, legally they can't talk about it. So are they using it without a warrant? Well, daily we see officer arrested for accessing data bases that leave a trail of use. Stingray or live screen monitoring devices leave nothing. Cop wants to trace his x-wifes messages, you'll never know. Bad guys needs to know what other bad guys are up to, pays cop to surveil, you'd never know. There's no trail. Legally, they should obtain a warrant, but we all know legally they should do a lot of things they don't. Practically, electronic surveillance may never be challenged because you never knew it was used on you, unless the authorities tell you it was. Electronic surveillance isn’t about reading your messages. It’s about mapping your life, location, movement, associations, then going after the device itself. The real issue isn’t the tech. It’s the lack of integrity some officers display on a daily basis combined with the fact that you’d struggle to ever prove it was used on you at all. #onpoli #cdnpoli #surveillance #police #corruption

Not a comparison between Carney and Poilievre. Carney would never sit down for a long form conversation with Joe Rogan. I can’t quite put my finger on why this ignited such a visceral anger in me. Was it the condescending tone? Was it the cocksure hubris? Was it the dismissive attitude toward more than 100 years of legitimate Albertan grievances? Whatever it was, it has hardened my resolve for Alberta independence.
