@TomHQ Why are you attacking a Democrat versus the MAGA republicans running, especially the crazy man in first place in many polls?? I will never understand Dems who think center left politicians are worse than far right nuts. 5 years of Trump should have taught us something 🤦‍♂️

@RepBrendanBoyle @neeratanden What is inaccurate about his claim? The leaders of the American revolution had slaves and the constitution literally protected the rights of slaveowners. I get the temptation to attack Piker, but attack him on the facts, not emotion.

Wrong. The single most significant event since Christ has been the American Revolution. We are by no means a perfect country. But the ideals set forth in the Declaration of Independence were radical for their time and still are today.
Marco Foster@MarcoFoster_

Hasan Piker: “America is, in its foundation, a white supremacist country. This is very frustrating for Republicans to hear, this is even frustrating for liberals to hear sometimes, but it’s just the truth”

@cornellbelcher When Biden’s numbers weren’t even this bad, the media went on for days talking about how he is tanking the party. Why do you think the media is still lifting up Trump as some invincible strong man? Is it largely due to maintaining access to the calls he takes?

I have never seen such a full & total collapse of a Presidency across the board. Yeah by all means Americans shouldn’t be bothered at all tht Republicans are trying to further gerrymander so that voters can’t change the direction of the country or hold Trump accountable

@umichvoter Have lived in bed Stuy off the G for the past 4 years. It’s amazing. Fulton Ave is walking distance from dozens of top tier restaurants, bars of all types, and the A/C can get you to downtown BK or Manhattan in minutes if needed.

@brianstelter She has the opportunity to ask any questions and she asks about Jimmy Kimmel? Not about racist remarks toward Jeffries? Not about wild gas prices? Not about the cost of the Iran war?

@ZacharyDonnini @VoteHub Isn’t it literally unconstitutional?? I feel like that little piece of context is missing in the horse race discourse.

NEW — 2020 presidential results in key districts in the new Florida map. The map is highly aggressive and pretty risky for 2026. It is probably very effective in 2028 if there is a more neutral environment where the house is close, though there is still some risk.

NEW — Florida’s proposed gerrymander would significantly strengthen the GOP map based on 2020 presidential results. Multiple Biden-won districts would flip to Trump-won territory, including FL-09 and FL-14. FL-22 and FL-25 go from deep blue to purple based on 2020 results.

@chucktodd How does that explain Trump’s electoral success? His temperament is the most extreme of any candidate since maybe Jackson. Harris went around with Liz Cheney in October 2024 while he went around with Tucker Carlson. Harris talked about having a gun while he had project 2025.

It’s “moderate in temperament” that these swing voters want. What they hate is the knee-jerk partisanship and exhausting grandstanding for grandstanding’s sake. It’s the consistent issue that appears to swing these voters against the whichever party is the incumbent party for a decade now.
Michael A. Cohen (NOT TRUMP’S FORMER FIXER)@speechboy71

The larger issue here is that many voters, particularly swing voters, don't know what "moderate" means ... or "liberal" or "conservative." I get @katz_morris impulse to blame DC consultants, but this is a larger problem with how pundits and reporters talk about politics. They imprint policy issues onto an ideological spectrum that makes sense to them but doesn't really explain how most voters (particularly swing voters) think. I suspect, for what it's worth, that most consultants (in both parties) understand this better, though I suppose YMMV.

@steveschale @neeratanden @SenatorSlotkin How is it good for Slotkin politically if her eyes are on higher office? Polling is consistently showing 90s/2000s era attitudes around Israel have changed and politicians are slow to respond. Majorities of all parties under age 35 and of all Dems now see Netanyahu as an enemy.

@MarcACaputo @BarakRavid I’m most curious about why there has been such limited reporting on the war crime threats. If any other leader had made threats such as that, there would be 500 think pieces about the danger. Yet, the questioning in these phone calls and press conferences doesn’t reflect that.

NEW: I just spoke briefing w/ President Trump on the phone. He said he is NOT ruling out sending ground troops into Iran if they do not make a deal. He also said no infrastructure targets are off the table for U.S. strikes if no deal is reached Story incoming on @thehill @NewsNation

Trump has been at the White House today, as evidenced by the presence of a Marine outside the West Wing. There has not been any travel to his golf course at Trump National or Walter Reed

The White House has called a travel/photo lid as of 11am ET, meaning we do not expect to see the president for the rest of the day Trump is in Washington this weekend but we are yet to have a formal news briefing on the situation with the missing airman in Iran

@neeratanden Or mainstream dems should stop elevating fringe voices. I literally haven’t heard of this man until this week and I’m quite politically active. That’s due to institutional Dems racing to virtue signal their disdain. Twitter isn’t real life part 200.

@davidsirota @MalloryMcMorrow You do realize that the GOP is in the majority right now? Let’s not act like Stevens is doing so much more in the US house, but gets away taking tons of money from AIPAC. The virtue signaling is tiresome.

Dem politicians like @MalloryMcMorrow think good politics is promising voters they’ll do popular donor-challenging things in the future they refuse to do right now with the power they currently have. It’s deep cynicism designed to fool low-info voters in the attention economy.
