SCOOP from @IsaacDovere: Colorado Gov. Polis (D) grants clemency to Tina Peters, the Trump ally in prison for conspiring to breach election systems to audit the 2020 results. Polis is cutting her 9-year term in half, and says she could be out this summer cnn.com/2026/05/15/pol…

WSJ: Privately, President Trump’s advisers are increasingly worried that Republicans will pay a political price for the rising fuel costs, according to people familiar with the matter. Many of those advisers are eager to end the war in hopes that prices will begin moderating before November’s midterm elections.

Hasan Piker: “America is, in its foundation, a white supremacist country. This is very frustrating for Republicans to hear, this is even frustrating for liberals to hear sometimes, but it’s just the truth”

VAN SUSTEREN: Jimmy Kimmel has apologized. Do you accept it? TRUMP: I haven't heard him apologize but he's a lowlife whether he apologized or not. He shouldn't be on television. I think ABC is putting themselves in great jeopardy, actually. You know, they already paid me $16 million. George Slopadopolous said things that were untrue. This is very serious what's going on there.

Trump: "I heard Hakeem Jeffries, a low IQ person. He's a very low IQ."

NEW — Florida’s proposed gerrymander would significantly strengthen the GOP map based on 2020 presidential results. Multiple Biden-won districts would flip to Trump-won territory, including FL-09 and FL-14. FL-22 and FL-25 go from deep blue to purple based on 2020 results.

The larger issue here is that many voters, particularly swing voters, don't know what "moderate" means ... or "liberal" or "conservative." I get @katz_morris impulse to blame DC consultants, but this is a larger problem with how pundits and reporters talk about politics. They imprint policy issues onto an ideological spectrum that makes sense to them but doesn't really explain how most voters (particularly swing voters) think. I suspect, for what it's worth, that most consultants (in both parties) understand this better, though I suppose YMMV.
