PSG with one Champions League are allowed to put one star on their Jersey but Barcelona with 5 UCL must not put stars on their kit.

@blaiklockBP We could fix this by having people to oversee the process. Probably from each party, and the indies, to prevent bias. Oh wait...

"It's not the people who vote that count, it's the people who count the votes." Attributed to Stalin. The counting staff are chosen by the returning officer from a pool of generally council employees. The Returning Officer is appointed by the councillors! Council Staff are overwhelmingly left-wing. No Independent recruitment process No Political balance requirement No Vetting for party membership or affiliation No External oversight of who is selected

@al_caholic666 @bwfast The difference is the possibility of going up to the majors. OF COURSE fans will find it hard to follow a team that has a massive concrete ceiling to their achievements.

@bwfast The 10th tier in the USA would look like a youth soccer game with maybe a 100 people at it, the pro/rel crowd are morons.

@Mike_Leach1976 @ItzKyleHomie87 @bwfast Tbf it's hard to engage with a lower league team if there's no possibility of advancing to a higher level. Literally every country on Earth with pro/rel has proved that it is sustainable. I don't see the US or Canada being any different in that regard.

@ItzKyleHomie87 @bwfast Fans in US/CAN traditionally don’t support lower leagues. That’s why MLS still struggles to break into the mainstream. An MLS team drops into USL/CPL, fans disappear. Crowds of 20k drop to 2-3. For clubs who are gate driven for survival it’s not sustainable.

@RealCounties England is slowly moving towards single-tier councils across the country. Perhaps once this is complete, it would be a good time to reinstate the historic counties to official status.

Real Counties | Historic Counties
Before 1888, ‘county’ had a single, clear meaning: the historic, geographic counties. Confusion arose only when the term was applied to administrative areas. The clearest approach is to reserve ‘county’ for geography and avoid its use in local government terminology altogether.

@simongerman600 Italy and Japan can honestly contend to be part of the Football/Rugby overlap, the first one plays the Six Nations every year and is improving and the second one has a respectable continental record and generally always pushes through to the WC knockouts

@cjsnowdon You can get away with anything if you look like you're meant to be there. In my roadie days some guys nicked a catamaran, in two trips. A mate used to test airport security. He said the people who most easily made it airside were ones like on their first day at Tie Rack...

@rjb_1998 What is your parameters for determining what football team names are acceptable and not? E.g. is wood not allowed, but forest is I suppose? Where’s your hard and soft lines? Please lay it out, I need to know!

The thing the 3 up 3 down morons don't understand is that the more promotion places you have the more likely you are to have 'Boreham wood' in the football league, and the amount that would devalue the English game cannot be overstated

For those of you Reform bashers who are still having trouble with your critical thinking skills, this may help you put things into perspective. Those MPs who didn't vote yesterday: Labour 53 Lib Dem 16 Tory 12 SF 7 Ind 3 Reform 2 Hope that helps.

@WatchedToffee This is going to be around 50ish tickets out of the allocation, I'd imagine. And being the THS, that's one of the larger allocations. Minimal disruption for £150k extra revenue for the club.

@nocntxtreplyguy @elerianm Wouldn't be worth it in the US as they have a lower voltage system than most of the rest of the world. This is also why this socket lacks the holes for Type A/B pins.

It’s 2026. Why is the "travel adapter hunt" still a thing? Dear Hotels: please find below the ultimate guest perk. If you’re renovating, please ditch the single-region outlets and go universal. It’s a small detail that makes a massive difference for your international guests.

Lincoln Cathedral was built nearly 1,000 years ago, without modern machinery, engineering degrees, or materials. Today with every advantage imaginable, we rarely create anything that comes close. This isn’t a question of capability. It’s a question of standards. Why can’t we build like this anymore?
