I’ve been accused of being a “genocide-supporter”. I’ve been called a “baby killer”, a “demon”, a “ghoul”, a “monster”. I’m none of these. I wish the war would end. I wish it had never happened, but terrorists will be terrorists, and Oct 7 happened. I wish not a single Israeli had died or been raped or kidnapped on Oct 7, but tragically they were. I wish not a single innocent person had been killed in Gaza, but tragically they were. I wish Hamas had not hidden behind human shields and had not used civilian infrastructure for war purposes, but they did. I wish the international community would join Israel to disarm Hamas and remove them from power, but they won’t. I wish Hamas would step down, so that there’s a chance for peace in the region, but they never will. So, I hope. I hope that Israel can soon finish the job of removing Hamas from Gaza, but I know that will take time. I hope that casualties of innocent people can be avoided, but I understand how difficult/impossible that is, especially when the enemy uses them as human shields and hides amongst them. I hope that the Islamic Regime stops using the people of Gaza as pawns, so they have a chance at a future, but I know the unlikelihood of that happening. I hope that there will be a day when the people of Gaza will no longer attack and try to kill Israelis and Jews, but I am realistic that we are likely a long time away from reaching that point. I hope there’s a day when the world sees the truth about the war in Gaza, about how Israel has conducted itself, and about how the propaganda has been spun to tell a false narrative, but I’m intelligent enough to know the uphill battle that is. So no, I don’t support genocide nor do I celebrate the deaths of innocent people. But I do understand why the war is happening. I understand why innocent people are dying. And I’m well aware of who’s responsible for those deaths. And I hope the spilling of blood, on both sides, maybe will end in my lifetime.
