Ed Fitzpatrick of the Boston Globe expertly moderated and the Lincoln School lent space for a discussion of how the next Attorney General will use the power of the office to prevent violence, stand up for survivors, expand access to justice, and protect communities across Rhode Island as we face unprecedented challenges from the Trump administration. I’ve been doing the work, standing up to Trump, and fighting for years for a safer, stronger, fairer state for everyone — for survivors, healthcare access, and everyday Rhode Islanders across our state. As your Attorney General, I’ll be ready on day one to continue that crucial work.

Attacks against the Rehabilitation Act, and gutting of protections for students with disabilities, multilingual learners, and many others began on day one of the Trump administration. We need AG with the deep experience to fight back against assaults on RI’ers civil rights.

Hundreds of lawn signs going up all around Rhode Island! Gas is expensive so can’t promise a quick turnaround after your request - our amazing interns are traveling the state on different days to save gas money as we field all the requests. Reports that the Trump Administration may use the Postal Service to pressure states over election administration are deeply concerning. Rhode Islanders must be able to trust that every ballot will be delivered and counted without political interference. I led the Rhode Island Attorney General’s effort to protect the integrity of the 2020 election, working alongside the Secretary of State’s Office, the Board of Elections, and our outstanding team at the AG’s Office. I know what’s at stake, and I know what it takes to defend our elections. Rhode Island deserves an Attorney General with the experience to protect our democracy. The Attorney General’s Office is different from a legislative office or a state commission—it carries unique constitutional and legal responsibilities that demand proven leadership and real experience.
