@kellienewell7 Our bus supplier will investigate this with the bus operator; if you were planning to travel on that bus, you can get in touch with our delay repay team, apologies ^MC
@kellienewell7 Hi Kelly, I have reported this to our bus supplier but unfortunately, they have been unable to get hold of the driver or their office; we are looking to arrange a replacement duty, apologies ^MC
@SW_Help Can you imagine you’ve trained 6 months for today. And that happens? A no show and absolutely no explanation as to why? It’s so unfair to do this to people. You can’t blame that on network rail.
@angryredhead9@SW_Help Agreed! To do this on marathon day is shocking! The least they could do is make sure the busses are turning up! But classic SWR! Totally unaccountable as always
@SW_Help Thanks for the info. I know this isn’t your fault but this is very unhelpful on the day of the London Marathon to be reliant on buses that may not turn up.
@kellienewell7 Delay repay will be based on the revised timetable; if the replacement bus or train are running late and you are delayed for 15 minutes or more, you will be eligible for delay repay ^MC
@kellienewell7 Hi Kellie, replacement buses are part of the planned timetable; when engineering works are scheduled, the slower part of the journey that is operated by a bus replacement service is built into the revised timetable ^MC
Hi, that would be dependant on the type of vehicle that is used for the rail replacement. If you are leaving Basingstoke at 09:00 the fastest route would be to take the 09:06 rail replacement bus to Guildford and then catch the 10:11 train service from Guildford to London Waterloo, arriving at London Waterloo at 10:53. ^MCB
@networkrail can I ask why you’ve planned engineering works today of all days? People have trained months for the marathon and now they have the panic of making it to the start line? Travelling from BSK to WAT. I’m honestly so baffled as to the logic
@kellienewell7 Network Rail as they own the infrastructure. Please check our website for the latest travel updates, alternatively if you let me know what time you are travelling I can let you know the most direct route. ^MCB
@SW_Help So who does make the plans then? I’m assuming there are extra busses being laid on today then as there will be higher demand? The marathon is always the last Sunday in April so no excuse!!! But you have excuses for everything 🙄 so frustrating.
@kellienewell7 Hi, we don't plan or carry out the engineering works. The plans for engineering works are also made up to four years in advance. Apologies that your journey will take longer than expected today. ^MCB
@SW_Help What possessed you to schedule rail replacement on London Marathon day? Thousands of runners and supporters are relying on getting into Waterloo and this is the day you disrupt services? Genuinely baffling planning.
@kellienewell7 Hi Kellie, there is a rail replacement bus service running from Basingstoke to Weybridge today. Train services to London Waterloo resume from Weybridge. ^MCB
