You can’t simply quantify the amount of growth that come from a full room of coaches that actually share processes and don’t gate-keep. 🥎 could use a few pages out of the ⚾️ script… no I’m not talking about drills and what looks good on a presentation slide.

From CatcherCON yesterday.
Great presentation by Kellen Lee Mental Skills Coach for the Seattle Mariners. Some highlights:
1) CONFIDENCE- The belief that you have the ability to create the result you want.
2) Confidence is the anecdote of fear.
3) Simplicity breeds repeatability.
4) Clear mind & it’s easier access your skill set.
5) Skill doesn’t change second to second, mindset can.

I wish players realized how much their coaches think about them away from the field.. How we lose sleep if they’re struggling mentally, if their family is going through a loss, or if we’re just trying to watch film to figure out how we can help make them better.
We want connection just like they do, but sometimes can’t reach everyone all the time. We want to be better for them, but we are also human and deal with our own setbacks and struggles.
Mental health is widely talked about when it comes to student athletes, but do athletes realize that coaches, parents, and administrators also go through the similar things.
At the end of the day, we’re all just trying to do our best.

I feel that everyone should move away from their hometown (even for a little bit) to see what the world has to offer, as well as grow outside of ur comfort zone
