@shagbark_hick People in MA are not nice. Nobody who has ever lived here will ever tell you that the people here are nice. They are extremely rude hence the term Masshole.

It is very funny, I hear many people saying bad things about Massachusetts, but honestly MA is much better than Upstate NY in many ways. NY is #2-highest overall tax burden in USA. MA is #21-highest. The Cato Institute ranks NY at #50, or dead last, in overall personal freedom. It ranks MA at #26. People in MA are friendlier overall. The scenery in rural Western MA is fantastic. The cost of real estate is comparable in rural areas (slightly higher in MA but fairly reasonable IMO). And in many towns in deep rural Western MA, the local authorities can have a surprisingly laissez-faire mentality about property owner rights. I know of at least a few towns where the codes enforcement is extremely lax or bordering on nonexistent, where quite a lot of shenanigans are tolerated. You really just have to avoid the rich liberal areas and you'll find people are not really that rulesy. Moreover, MA people tend to be pretty educated and I find that they are 10x more social than Upstate NY people. We just visited some friends in rural W. MA and even at the local dump, everybody's just chilling out and socializing. There's a big crew of young men that get together at the local pub weekly without fail. Unheard of where we live in NY. MA's rural parts also seem WAY younger than NY's. Quite common to run into friendly, well-read folks in their 30's out in the hill towns -- and once you get away from the bigger cities and college towns, they do not tend to be uniformly liberal or woke. Usually more "independent". In other words, NY is so bad for so many things that someone from Upstate NY would put themselves way ahead by moving to MA. And I find that while MA real estate is pricier than NY's, you can get cheaper real estate overall in MA than in VT or NH. There are a lot of "sleeper" options in that state, and none of them are *that* far from some really excellent amenities and communities.

A furious morning to all in the Commonwealth who is bullshit that cities and towns are struggling while state spending keeps exploding in other areas. The Massachusetts HomeBASE program increased from about $12.3 million in 2022 to roughly $100 million in 2025. Meanwhile, local aid for many cities and towns has remained largely stagnant while communities continue dealing with rising costs for schools, public safety, roads, and basic services. Now more municipalities are being pushed toward overrides and higher property taxes just to keep up. Residents are being asked to pay more while local governments are still being told to do more with less. Where is our fair share?

Wonder if Boston explores a trade for Jason Robertson. For the first time in a while, Boston has solid prospects, and is flush with 1st round picks. Something Dallas needs. Might be a destination to keep an eye on. Robo on the left and Pasta on the right could be lethal 👀

@Sweenius Optics here are awful. You have to come down hard on this kind of play to deter others. You don’t want kids seeing this and thinking it’s ok

The Boston Bruins should stand up for Charlie McAvoy. Benson, wasn’t hurt on the play. It wasn’t pre-meditated. This is clearly the NHL being upset that McAvoy called them out earlier this season and now decided to make an example of him.

@NHLPA and Charlie McAvoy absolutely should appeal.

@TCalauttis Except he was part of the problem. Watch how often he flies the zone. It works every once in a while but more often than not he’s abandoning his defensive assignment.

Sturm wouldn't commit to the idea of the Bruins naming a single captain next year. He said he liked this year's group of three alternates and they will evaluate what they want to do in the summer.

@Jessemedscience He’s never scored a lot of goals and I don’t think he will ever score a lot of goals. He’s a good, some might say very good, 3rd line C who will score 20ish goals a year. People need to stop making him out to be something he’s not.

In his last 20 games (15 regular season + 5 playoffs), Fraser Minten has 2 goals Turned over a puck that directly resulted into a goal and was pushed back onto the third line after getting some time with Geekie and Mittelstadt He’s been really good defensively and helps your PK but at some point you want to see some offense out of him Steeves and Eysimmont’s game is probably better suited for what Sturm’s asking of him right now A blue-collar goal could go a long way for his confidence #NHLBRUINS #NHL #BRUINS

With @AndrewRaycroft taking more time in the NESN booth, I had questions. Brickley, allegedly, signed a 3 yr contract in 2023. Leaving 2026 as the end— is Razor preparing to take over the color commentary in 2026-27?

Good morning! Quick update again today. Get outside and enjoy today. It’s the pick of the weekend! Lots of sunshine. Inland temps get up into the 50s. The NW breeze will make it feel a bit chillier…but all in all a very nice day! Tomorrow has trended more unsettled as I thought might happen. Rain and wet snow showers move in before sunrise north of the Mass Pike and will sag south across SNE as scattered rain showers through the day. It’s not an all day washout and the showers during the day should mostly be light - but it now looks at least damp and potentially wet through most of tomorrow. The higher elevations north of the Mass Pike could see a coating to 1” or so of wet snow mainly on grassy surfaces tomorrow am. Tomorrow night another round of showers moves through - these are focused south of the Mass Pike and likely will contain pockets of moderate to briefly heavy rain. This ends Monday morning as rain showers may flip to snow/mix showers in many spots as colder air moves in. At the moment, I don’t expect any issues except in the hill towns where temps may get down around freezing Monday am. All in about 0.40” - 0.80” looks like a decent range with the higher end favoring SE areas. A big range of temps tomorrow with a front draped across SNE…upper 40s NE…low 60s SW as milder air tries to push in from the NYC area…but the cold will hold it from advancing too far. Improvement Monday afternoon but a chilly day with below average temps near 40°. Then generally a fair weather week coming up. There could be a few showers in the later Thursday to early Friday timeframe - but not a big deal. Temps not far from seasonable levels. Folks near the shoreline…I think you can put those snow shovels away for the season. Inland…you’re probably good too…but I don’t want to jinx things. Hill towns…just a couple more weeks to get through - and it may be more about sanding/salting than about plowing in the hills. And possibly some light at the end of the tunnel to start April as the models are hinting at another big warm up! I’m not sure it stays for long…but it would be nice to see a couple more days get up into the 70s! Stay tuned. Have a great day today! I’m heading out soon for my first cycle 🚴🏿of the season! 👊

Kevin Weekes, on the ESPN broadcast, projects Fraser Minten to at minimum be a 30G-30A player in the NHL. No reason to push back on that, could see that as well - but even if he ends up being more of a 25G-25A player - just a massive get by BOS, let alone the 1st rounder ..
