Estimates were based on it being available to ALL people. More people sign up reduces costs. If your dr is in restricted area, blame GOP.

First, the ACA promised to *reduce* premiums, not nearly double them and say “Thank me! It only costs 75% more!”
Second, the share of compensation it ate up in 1988 was 7.9%. By 2019, that figure was 17.7%.
While it is fair to say the ACA made healthcare more accessible, it’s hardly made it more affordable.

The average family health insurance premium in 1996 was $4938. So in the 14 years from 1996 to 2010, premiums rose 168%. In the 14 yrs between 2010 and 2024, premiums rose 75%, less than half as fast. So yes, Obamacare bent the cost curve.

Dilemma. What do I do with these embroidered pillowcases ? They were given to my mom at her wedding. They were embroidered by her grandma, my great great grandma. My mom never used them because /she “couldn’t ever replace them” after her grandma passed. She kept them in the linen closet in the house I grew up in. She gave them to me when I got married and yes, I’ve also kept them unused in my linen closet for 20 years. I don’t want to get rid of them (I won’t). Do I use them or keep them safely store me for future generations to not use, either?
