This is pure theater. Sermon illustrations are unnecessary, distracting, and often counterproductive. Pastor, just preach the Word. It’s more than enough.

I don't know if this was the OP intention and admittedly some illustrations can be cringe... but the number of times Jesus used not only illustrations but OBJECT LESSONS ("look at this mustard seed", "watch me hold a little log up to one eyeball and a tiny speck up to the other", "hey kid, come up here and sit on my lap while I teach about dependence!"... good enough for Jesus, good enough for me

Tired tropes i see on modern hymn social media accounts 1. radio songs are only appealing to women 2. churches with bands train their people not to sing. 3. these radio songs lead to deconstruction or catholicism. of course, the people selling their own music, propagate this, so its a little self-serving.

But I keep seeing a bit of snobbery in their online discussion. this quote by Getty seems a bit patronizing, condescending, and reductionist. When Tucker Carlson was fired from Fox News—do you remember that day? Everyone was shocked that it happened. The reason they fired him (in all likelihood) is he was the only person on Fox News speaking out about what happened on January 6th. I want that Tucker from Fox News back. The courageous fighter against wokeism. The man who was on the side of good in the battle of good versus evil, unafraid to offend even his bosses who signed those big old fat paychecks Tucker was getting. I don't want Tucker to turn to the Left.
