I just can’t catch my breath at how the ref has not spotted this in real time and especially VAR who will have 3/4 angles and slow mo. Come to the conclusion this is not endangering an opponent or serious foul play🤷🏻♂️

@robc112 @JessfromTO I think fans should be able to have their opinion on what is happening as well though. To be fair to Pridham he will be fine and move on to a good job. Chayka has never for me spoke like somebody who can put together a winning team or culture. I'll give time and hope I'm wrong.

@Im_RobM @MagpieGroupNUFC If you were watching the game, West Ham were throwing the kitchen sink at us out of desperation and had four up front. Bringing Burn on was the right decision and it worked fine. Some stupid decisions from players on the pitch didn't help and gave them chances though.

@refsupportuk He is right on this occasion though. Salisbury failed badly in his duty on that call. He had the benefit of VAR and really shouldn't have got it wrong. PGMOL need to make sure he learns from it. That's my issue is their management seems worse than what Spurs have had this season

Slightly concerned so far with the #Leafs decision making this summer. Pridham has done an incredible job and whichever team he moves to will be lucky to have him. I really hope Chayka proves me wrong, but I'm not feeling positive so far.

Much better from #nufc Really good first half, three good goals. West Ham goal came out of nothing (brilliant finish) and then for a spell we saw the brain dead decision making which has cost us all season. But far better overall. Woltemade and Ramsay created a lot today.

@refsupportuk I do think letting the audio be heard immediately after the game or allowing the referee to speak after the game would help a lot. I know a few local non-league refs love the opportunity to explain their decisions to fans after the game to help them understand the call they made.

Fans never accept any refs mistakes. That’s the problem and exactly why VAR was brought in. The forensics analysis of every refs decision before VAR was the conception of VAR. Fans and players only want decisions to go their way whether they are correct or not.

VAR, I think, may be a factor. In real-time fans can accept that a referee can make a mistake, be unsighted or not have the best angle for something that happens quickly. VAR allows time, multiple angles, slow motion replays and still the most basic of mistakes are made. So with raised expectations, people are more annoyed at errors

@refsupportuk It's shocking that any referee should be threatened in any way. Personally I think the decision was a really poor one, but it was a real pressure moment and he doesn't have long to look at it. Even if he got it wrong, anyone who thinks he deserves threats should be locked up.

This is spot on. Refs all always the ones who are asked to be “accountable” yet players seldom are blamed for losses like refs are.
It’s a disgrace that a ref has to be protected and the refs children are targeted. I hope the ref and his family are ok.

That's why the rules are in place. I bet the players would moan if the salary cap didn't go up because media coverage dropped and TV revenues slowed.

Boro do not deserve to be in the final. A guy with a phone did not prevent them from scoring, if they had taken their chances we would have been out, they didn't, not because of the temu spy, but because of their own lack of quality. Blows my mind people think otherwise #saintsfc
