Excellent meeting with Dr Ansar Ansari and H.E. Deputy Ambassador Mr Hussain AlMeqbali at the Oman Embassy. We discussed opportunities to strengthen UK-Oman trade and deepen the economic partnership between our two countries.

Pakistan has reopened the historic Gurdwara Chhatti Patshahi in #Lahore after 77 years, marking the first Sikh religious prayers here since the 1947 Partition. The reopening followed the removal of alleged illegal occupants and the handover of the site to the Sikh community.

Deeply saddened by the passing of Roy Hattersley. He was a giant of the Labour movement,a mentor to me&a great friend to my late father. His wisdom,kindness & commitment to social justice inspired generations. I will always be grateful for his guidance and friendship. RIP Roy. 🌹
