Very disturbing.
(1) closing schools and childcare isn’t just about adolescents
(2) mental health issues are not simply due to “lack of friendships” or “boredom” nor the result of “letting it disturb them”
(3) masks in children are not known to result in “higher risk”

I’m talking about preschoolers, where risk of covid, hygiene skills, AND mask use via faster respiration, can ALL have higher risk.

@kidoctr Fact is polio was a result of DDT in food. When this was ended the vaccine was made with cancer producing agents to take credit for polio remission. Do your homework.

When we immunize children, it’s a lot like helping them learn to read. Vaccines are beginner texts that our body uses to practice comprehending a virus. A literate immune system can keep kids healthy…so that they can focus on kid stuff (like reading the books they love!)

In the 2010s, adult flu vaccine uptake never broke 50%. It's so predictable that we don't even make shots for 1/3 of the population.
A lot of that is because people don't take flu seriously. But folks, you should and I'll tell you why.

@OrthDc The first to be vaccinated in Israel were 60+ group. The vast majority of breakthrough cases in that country are in 60+ w co-morbid conditions. Israel’s numbers are around 300 breakthrough cases currently in 5.4 million vaccinated = rare.

1/ Wow. New Israeli preprint shows natural immunity to #SARSCoV2 is FAR superior to the artificial kind - vaccinated people were 13x as likely to be infected and 27x to have symptomatic infections as a matched cohort that was previously infected. And this is with Delta dominant.

@OrthDc Plenty of recent data demonstrating the vast majority of infections are in the unvaccinated. Natural infection might be "better" if there wasn't so much death and illness associated with it. Feel free to volunteer at your local health facility with COVID patients and no PPE.

@OrthDc "Next to zero" = reinfection does occur. Other data demonstrate reinfection occurs at greater rate than in vaccinated. Not really a surprise.

@OrthDc Yes, the vaccine does prevent infection & does prevent serious COVID complications. The unvaccinated are over twice more likely to be re-infected than the vaccinated are being infected. "Natural infection" = sick, complications and/or death - and still risk re-infection.

@kidoctr And in any case, if the vaccine doesn’t stop transmission (which it doesn’t, look at Israel).....then people should choose to risk vaccine side effects/ADE with just getting natural infection, since the vaccine doesn’t stop infection you’re not effecting others

@OrthDc It’s obvious you entirely missed the point. Goes right along with your poor risk assessment skills. Over 620,000 people died in the US and got no “natural immunity”. The vaccine doesn’t come remotely close to that risk. #getvaccinated

@kidoctr This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen on Twitter. Some would rather risk tbe symptoms from covid and have natural immunity than 💉 side effects and short term immunity with potential ADE etc. It’s a nice fake argument though

@RobertRFaulk I’m not really sure but I can think of at least 3 or 4 who probably aren’t actively recommending vaccination. They may be advising specifically against it but I can’t be sure. The overwhelming majority are actively recommending vaccination, though.
