Uczennice zauważyły dziwne zachowanie kolegi i wyczuły zapach marihuany. Natychmiast zgłosiły to wychowawcy. Policja przyjechała szybko – w plecaku 17-latka znaleziono susz. Chłopak tłumaczył, że „znalazł to w parku” i postanowił sobie zapalić na przerwie. Badanie narkotesterem potwierdziło, że był pod wpływem na lekcjach. Został zatrzymany i wyprowadzony ze szkoły.
