Tonight I’m flying my A350 to Hong Kong, and honestly, it still feels like one of those routes that never loses its magic. There’s something about heading east into the night, knowing you’re about to drop into a city that’s part skyline, part harbour, part mountain, and completely unforgettable. My Hong Kong top 3? 1.The approach. Few arrivals in the world feel as cinematic, water below, hills in the distance, and then that incredible moment when the city starts to glow. 2.The food. You can have the fanciest dinner in town, but sometimes the best Hong Kong memory is still a simple bowl of noodles after landing. 3.The energy. It’s fast, elegant, and full of life… the kind of place that gets under your skin and stays there. But the slow pace of a Star Ferry ride is unbeatable. Hong Kong has my first commercial airliner destination and it’s grown to be my favourite. I love how it blends aviation, travel, and pure atmosphere into one place. Some cities you visit. Hong Kong feels like one you return to in your head, long after you’ve left. #aviation #travel #hongkong

On Saturday night, Boston Firefighters responded to a 3-alarm fire at a residence in Dorchester. While battling the blaze, 53-year old Firefighter Robert “BK” Kilduff, Jr. suffered a fall from a third floor window and sustained severe injuries. He was rushed to Boston Medical Center, where despite lifesaving efforts by firefighters on scene, Boston EMS and hospital staff, he succumbed to his injuries. Through the efforts of FF Kilduff and others on scene, all five residents made it out of the burning home safely and the fire was kept from spreading to adjacent residences. Bobby was a 24-year veteran of the Boston Fire Department, following in the footsteps of both his father and grandfather. He also served his country as a U.S. Marine before his decades as a firefighter; demonstrating a dedication and a calling to serve others. He was a proud member of Rescue Company 2, and was recently credited with the saving the life of a fellow firefighter who suffered cardiac arrest while responding to a fire just over a month ago. Bobby performed CPR on the unresponsive firefighter on the way to the hospital and the firefighter survived. Firefighter Bobby Kilduff, Jr. exemplified what it meant to be a union firefighter. He was passionate about his profession, and passionate about improving the lives of his fellow firefighters. Bobby leaves behind two adult children and will be laid to rest next week.

@BasuLab1 @weldeiry I agree with you. Although I hasten to add that most E7 protein based vaccines that I am aware of were “deoncogenized”. I did not think it was “a highly antigenic protein”

@weldeiry I have as yet to see an an AI tool that can mimic reasoning using basic biologic principles. Imagine if you were a student today trying to use it to understand those principles.

I asked Google AI “is it a good idea to use unmutated oncogenic HPV E6 as an antigen to vaccinate against HPV?” The answer “Using unmutated, wild-type oncogenic HPV E6 as a vaccine antigen is generally considered unsafe for human clinical use because of its potential to transform cells. While the E6 oncoprotein is a potent target for immunotherapy, it must be de-oncogenized (mutated) to eliminate its ability to bind and degrade p53 while retaining immunogenicity to be effective and safe.”

We mourn the passing of World War II veteran Gilbert “Choc” Charleston — a proud Choctaw warrior and American hero — who passed away at the age of 101. During World War II, Charleston served as a tank driver with the 739th Tank Battalion, advancing across Europe through France, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. He endured the brutal winter of the Battle of the Bulge — one of the most grueling and decisive campaigns of the war — where courage, resilience, and sacrifice defined a generation. Through it all, he served with honor and unwavering determination. Gilbert “Choc” Charleston leaves behind a legacy of patriotism, strength, and deep love for his country. We honor his service. We remember his sacrifice. God bless this American hero.

At just 35 years old, Chief Petty Officer Leslie Allison Bruner slipped away peacefully in Virginia Beach, surrounded by the family who loved her. For 16 years she served with quiet strength as an active-duty Cryptologic Technician Collections Senior Chief, supporting Naval Special Warfare Development Group — the tip of the spear. She deployed multiple times into the heart of Operation Enduring Freedom, working in the shadows so others could strike the enemy. Through the heat, the danger, and the long separations, she earned the respect of every SEAL and sailor who served beside her. She carried the weight of the Global War on Terror on her shoulders and in her heart — and still smiled through it all. Her awards tell only part of the story: the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and many more. But those who knew her will tell you the real medal was the way she showed up for her teammates every single day. She fought her own brave battle with cancer while still in uniform, never once asking for the spotlight. Today we honor a warrior who gave everything for her country and her brothers and sisters in arms. God bless you, Senior Chief Bruner. Your service, your sacrifice, and your unbreakable spirit will never be forgotten. Rest easy, Chief. The watch is secure.
