@TrustTrost @RobGibsonHC You’ve pointed out a problem, now offer a solution. How do you get rid of the lazy ones and replace them with the 5:15am (when I get to school) to 9pm coaches. You have $5k to make your case.

Thanks for the note Rob. It didn’t say all coaches. It didn’t say half of the coaches or 25 percent of coaches. It said more than ever. If 5 percent of the 30,000 high school coaches in the U.S. are lazy - and more schools leaders are saying they’re seeing it - think of a team of 20 players. That 5 percent is 1,500 coaches impacting 30,000 kids. That’s the point, Rob. Thank you for what you have done and will do to help kids. I’m sure you know a lazy coach out there, too, hopefully you can help mentor them.

Or.. coaches are the first car in the parking lot at 6:15am. Often leave after 9pm. Teach those same hours. This isn’t a side hustle. Coaches drive buses. Fundraise athletic money. Mentor players when they don’t have parents at home. It’s a less than minimum wage stipend
Trost@TrustTrost

High school coaches: Paid more than ever. Collecting camp money. Adding a percentage of that pay to their pension - in Illinois. More technology than ever to do their jobs and in most cases, a bigger budget to do things than decades of past. The result: More lazy high school coaches than ever. It’s something I hear consistently from their peers, parents, school leaders and I’ve seen it first hand. They play games with postseason seeding, literally screwing innocent kids. Years ago, high school coaches were volunteers, community leaders - yes leaders off the field - and then smaller stipends started to appear. High school coaches will nail club coaches or trainers saying it’s a business. I don’t see high school coaches doing it for free. In fact, I see high school coaches looking at ways to do things in the offseason. You can’t have it both ways. I also see high school coaches gaming the system as they near retirement, coaching lower levels of some sports they have no business coaching just to collect a check and pad that pension. You can’t have it both ways. I’ve been in and around high schools now nearing my fifth different decade, covering and working with school leaders locally in Illinois and nationally. Just as I say with parents, there are great coaches and there are bad ones. And trust me, you know the great coaches right away. You do - everyone knows this. But in the end, the adults in and around youth and high school sports are the problem. It’s not the kids. High schools need to figure out how to enhance or clean house. I’d rather have an adult who actually cares and knows nothing about the sport than one literally using kids to pad their personal gain. #MoreThanJUSTGames #IHSA

@KipHenley Would be curious what the lofts were on those irons. I have my old ping eye2 irons. Hit my 8 iron about 20 yards less than my current one: looked up the lofts, it was less lofted than my current 9.

@kclairerogers Had never shot under par. Was 2 under heading into 18. Not a hard hole, hazard left and 2000 yards of in play land to the right. Aim way right, double cross into the hazard. Drop is in thick rough, turns clubface left, into hazard again. Triple for a +1.

I did something that has never been done in the history of golf. I dramatically changed my swing without the help of a golf pro on Thursday, and it worked! Held up all day Friday and shot a 75 (Im a 6 index). Currently looking for Monday qualifiers in my area!

For the 2nd straight time, 15 ruined rounds at Harrison Hills @LangfordMoreau. Last time my daughters, this time both of us. She did hit this bomb (263) on 18, made a par and won our four-ball match against my dad and uncle.
