I asked @FedExHelp for some written confirmation that they had corrected the problem that results in them redirecting my packages to the wrong address, and he asked me if *I* wanted to write something down. 😭😠
English

@Amtrak He tired himself out and/or drank himself to sleep. Blissful quiet. ☺️
English

There’s a loud mostly unmasked drunk white dude on this Cascades train, and @Amtrak has done zero about it. Non-stop from Portland. 1.5 hours of loud.
English

@LeahLibresco @indyfromspace This was already addressed earlier in the thread.
English

@indyfromspace Other issues with the Texas law aside, a D&E is completely legal once the doctor has confirmed the baby’s heart has stopped beating, correct?
It’s not restricted under this abortion law because it’s not an abortion—it’s the removal of a baby’s body after death, not cause of it.

@fatherqueerest Not North Seattle, but the deli in Tower 12 on 2nd Ave does decent breakfast sandwiches, and I think they’re $6-7. A very recent discovery of mine.
English

@daihard It was the headline that really made me see red - which, as I understand it, she probably had no control over?
English

@knothead02 Thanks, I will try to find the article. She usually writes good pieces so I'm curious to read it now.
English

@knothead02 Do you remember who wrote the bike lane piece? Just curious.
English

@kcmetrobus @seattledot @mlbaruchman At least the headline displayed here is more responsible than the “bike-lane-building binge” headline. Paris built many times that in the last 1.5 years.
English

Since last year, @seattledot has built almost 7 miles of protected bike lane with more coming soon.
Find out where all these new lanes are located in this Seattle Times piece by @mlbaruchman. 🚲🛣️

@BrockRides @UrbanistOrg @seattletimes @MikeLindblom This project has been a surprise to almost everyone I’ve mentioned it to. They know about the park, but they didn’t know the road is going to be wider.
English

@UrbanistOrg I can't wait until we have 3 more lanes and some parking, plus an extra media to make the pedestrian crossing distance even a little longer.

@holz_bau @seattledot I biked this on a low traffic Sunday and it made me a bit shakey. 😕
English

@mikecallaghan @IKnowSoftware @shanselman I like debugging exercises (similar idea, I think - real-world & no tricks).
English

@IKnowSoftware @shanselman I recently had candidates review one of my pull requests. It was eye opening. The feedback I got from someone I’m interviewing for a job was both relevant and timely. And, if I’m being honest, a bit humbling. I’ll definitely do it again.
English

Whiteboard coding interviews are evil and should be abolished. “Do you do a lot of coding with whiteboards here at the company?” is a good reply. 😂
April King 🌀@CubicleApril
“I notice that you have a decade’s worth of contributions to open source projects on GitHub,” noted the recruiter, “that’s great!” “When would be an ideal time to schedule you for your whiteboard coding exercise?”

English

@NomeDaBarbarian …and also that having been told what and when, they can actually get up and do the thing without needing to coax/trick/guilt/etc. themselves into doing it.
English

@SheRidesABike Same. I am going to eventually hit a limit of people telling me "but Seattle is so much better than other US cities!".
English

@SheRidesABike If it wasn’t so zero sum on both budget and space, I’d be ok with the EV enthusiasm. But, it’s “oh sorry we ran out of money to finish that bike lane, and whoops, now there’s an EV charging station in the way so we can’t finish it.” 😭
English

@seattledot @CityofSeattle Great! During the week too, please. Like most of us asked for in your survey.
English

Just in time for #4thofJuly, we're opening up more space to walk, bike, & play in a healthy way. Tomorrow (Friday) afternoon thought Tuesday morning, we’ll close 3 miles of Lake Washington Blvd to pass through traffic & open it to people walking, rolling, & biking. The map is ⬇️
