@RyanQualtrics my 6yr old son has been to one game and told me “it was the best day for his life”
English

Vibes were nice last game… Let’s keep this going with 8 more seats in the suite for tomorrow
Ryan Smith@RyanQualtrics
I’m hosting 8 Mammoth fans in my suite on Friday for our first home play off game ever… Who should go and why?
English

@RobertFreundLaw I’m not sure if I’m misunderstanding here but Sonnet isn’t the latest. Opus 4.6 is.
English

@mhp_guy @thesamparr I learned of Chris when you called him a cocky or confident or some form of little shit meant in an impressive way on your podcast. Good stuff.
English

@thesamparr 2nd video getting 100k is outrageous. and you didn't have to even appear in it. crushing it!! this is going to grow faster than you think.

Hampton has a Youtube channel.
It was called Mooneywise, which was a personal finance podcast for high net worth people.
We've pivoted it to focus on company building. Stories that help people grow from $10m to $100m. Like Starter Story but further along a bit.
Our 2nd video got 100k views. Which is cool.
It'l be fun this year to see how we make it all happen.
The goal is to grow it to 1-2m monthly longform views before end of year.
Highly inspired by @mhp_guy and @starter_story.
Goal is to build a media biz within Hampton that is beyond me.

@BobbyMarks42 @andyblarsen Where you been on this with every other team, Robert?
English

@andyblarsen I’ll bet you my 401k I would. And I would have said the same thing if my son was the GM.
English

Essentially, Zanik, Woj, and Marks are all close friends who have supported each other's careers throughout. I don't think Marks says the integrity thing this week if JZ is fully in charge, nor do I think Smith says this if Woj is at ESPN
TJ@mctejman
@andyblarsen Would love to hear more

🙄 agree to disagree … Also, we won the game in Miami and got fined? That makes sense …

@TrevMcKendrick Amniocentesis came back clean. Daughter is 6 weeks and besides the club foot that’s being corrected, completely healthy. Without understanding the odds at play and full health scope with ChatGPT, that waiting period would have been torture relying on the information from the dr.
English

@TrevMcKendrick Combined with the ultrasound data, ChatGPT put real world chances of ES <1%. We were trying to be optimistic but understood the gravity. The maternal fetal med dr, spoke as if it ES were a foregone conclusion, and told our dr we weren’t taking things seriously.
English

Our first daughter was born with Prader-Willi Syndrome. It's a random mutation (i.e. our future children aren't at risk) but emotionally our desire for as much genetic testing as possible has gone up 100x
My wife is pregnant & we get an amniocentesis done to test the fetus' entire genome.
An anomaly comes back: there's a duplication affecting gene KDM6A. Issues with KDM6A can mean the fetus potentially has something called Kabuki syndrome.
A scary sounding syndrome that creates a lifetime of care is something we've already experienced once.
But our geneticist reassures us: Kabuki syndrome comes from deletions, not duplications, of KDM6A. Our fetus is safe.
Ignoring the geneticist I pump the genetics entire report into ChatGPT. "What would we do next to test for loss of function on gene KDM6A?"
Of course ChatGPT gives us the perfect next steps for testing. But it also includes links to research papers, including a paper published just a few months ago.
The paper shows 3 examples of Kabuki syndrome that do come from duplications. The geneticist was wrong. Our fetus is not yet safe, and more testing is needed.
Thankfully the additional testing shows that I have the exact same duplication as the fetus. Our little girl is fine, as long as she doesn't mind being a little more like her father.
But now every conversation with every medical provider feels suboptimal at best. They don't have the latest research. They are rarely specialists in the thing you're going through. And they're operating in a CYA environment where they cannot possibly care about your life as much as you do.
So please – please – just give me the raw data, and we'll let the all-knowing LLMs take it from here.

@awilkinson Patiently waiting for your next garage Picasso. Maybe a Rembrandt at a Goodwill this time.

@sweatystartup I have a thread for you.
Alec Stapp@AlecStapp
Short thread of my favorite charts showing the efficacy of vaccines... (1/6) Measles
English

A few controversial opinions I have today that I think will be universally accepted in 20 years:
1) video games are horrifically addictive and ruining kids lives.
2) a lot of vaccines are totally unnecessary and are messing kids up really bad.
3) fluoride in water is a disaster. Filter it asap and get it out of your toothpaste too.
4) routine bloodwork and hormone optimization would keep all these 40 year old men from looking like blobs and 40 year old women sexually active with their husbands.
5) birth control for ladies is terrible for them and messing them up bad. Stop putting your 15 yr old daughters on them.
6) straight teeth is a no brainer investment. So many people could have 10x the confidence for $5k.
7) glyphosate is killing a ton of people.
8) large vehicles are 10x safer than small vehicles. Don’t put your wife or 16 year old in a sedan.
9) iPads for kids = crack cocaine and it is making them dumber because their attention span shrinks and they never want to play or read books. YouTube is also terrible for them because of shorts.
10) waiting till 35 to get married is a disaster. A lot of these folks are going to wish they had more kids and live with the regrets forever.
11) plastics are killing us. Polyester underwear, tea bags, cutting boards, microwavable meals in plastic (looking at 99.9% of schools and all the meal delivery services).
12) non stick pans cause cancer.
13) kids shouldn’t drink soft drinks ever. And I can’t believe parents buy fruity pebbles and pop tarts.
14) alcohol isn’t as bad as people think it is. When used in moderation it is a net positive.
15) Pitbulls should be banned.
16) recycling is a total scam and should be abolished.
17) sauna is very very healthy. Most people don’t sweat enough.
18) power lifting as a grown adult isn’t worth the damage to back and joints.
19) Long distance running isn’t healthy. More people should sprint.
20) heart disease is #1 killer in men by 10x. Yet nobody gets a heart workup at 35 or 45 or tracks lipid panels. They just wait till they need a bypass or it’s too late. Make it make sense!
21) a lot of my fat friends refuse to use GLP1s because of potential side effects. The side effects of being fat are 10x worse (because of #20). Wake up!
22) a normal, old fashioned business is 10x more likely to make somebody wealthy than a tech startup.
23) AI won’t change the world very much. People are over reacting today just like Elon when he told us we’d have full self driving cars by 2014. It is a long way off.
24) crypto outside of BTC is a total waste of time and electricity.
25) high school kids are numb and antisocial today. They aren’t interested in driving, sex, sports. They can’t talk to anyone and look them in the eye. It’s because they are medicated by social media and what we are feeding them. Also see #1 and #2.
If you can raise normal kids they are going to have an easier time than ever getting ahead in this world.
What’d I miss? How many of these do you agree with me on?

@mckaycoppins My 5 yr old put a polo on for pjs. I told him to go grab a shirt w/o a collar. He came in 5mins later, bare chested, saying he didn’t have any. I said “yeah you do bud, I’ll go get one.” I came back with a blue shirt and he was so confused, “you said a shirt without a color!”
English

In honor of Election Day, I’m reflecting on the time I thought my 5yo daughter was sad that I didn’t bring her with me to vote, then found out she actually thought I’d gone “boating” without her.
