Yesterday, I had the honor of announcing ConnectFree Healthcare, our groundbreaking initiative that has been hailed as a "new revolution in medicine," at a joint press conference with the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine and the Governor of Kyoto Prefecture.
When I first learned about the current state of data sharing between medical institutions over a year ago, I was shocked. Even today, tools like fax machines and CD-Rs are the backbone of medical communication; What's worse: in acute emergency situations, when a patient needs to be transferred to a specialized invasive medical facility, ambulances are forced to wait for data to be burned onto a CD-R before they can proceed. This process can take up to 30 minutes or more(!), wasting precious, life-saving time.
You might think, "Hey, why not use the Internet?" or "What about the cloud?" Unfortunately, the centralized management systems and fragile security models of traditional internet infrastructure fail to guarantee the reliability, confidentiality and safety required for handling sensitive medical data. In short, the internet as we know it isn't up to the task...
This is where ConnectFree Healthcare™ steps in as a game-changer✨
Powered by our patented 3rd-Generation Internet architecture "Internet3," ConnectFree Healthcare enables secure, instantaneous communication of medical data: This next-generation internet framework not only improves the efficiency of emergency care but also makes real-time remote treatment a reality. It’s not just about going digital -- it’s about solving real-world problems faced by healthcare professionals every day. By removing these barriers, we empower medical teams to focus on their primary mission: providing exceptional care to their patients. This is the "freedom" in ConnectFree that we aim to deliver for both healthcare providers and patients.
To bring this vision to life, we’ve partnered with Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine to establish the "ConnectFree Healthcare 21st Century Medicine Program," a three-year initiative starting this month. By the end of the year, ConnectFree Healthcare will be implemented in over 70 affiliated medical institutions. (If you’re interested in collaborating or learning more, please feel free to reach out)
What the 20th-century internet couldn't achieve, ConnectFree Healthcare is making possible. This initiative doesn’t just support frontline medical work -- it has the potential to transform regional healthcare systems and pave the way for a new global medical model from Japan to the world.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to Governor Takatoshi NISHIWAKI and everyone who joined us at the press conference. At ConnectFree, we believe technology should empower individuals, not complicate their lives. Our philosophy is simple: when innovation works in harmony with you, it’s not just progress -- it’s freedom!
