He only explained the difference between AI and traditional software. He didn't explain why there isn't a bubble, which is worrying. Yes, AI requires more compute, but it's unclear why we need so much AI. 3D-printed houses didn't replace traditional construction because flexibility isn't as important as efficiency. And as he said himself, AI requires much more compute. So why would it replace 100%, or even 30%, of standard software?

The Jony Ive Ferrari design forces us to ask the question: Have his designs always been shit? In a vacuum the Apple designs appear incredible, but when compared to an iconic brand like Ferrari they seem lobotomized and sexless

every designer right now is extremely conflicted. On one hand we all have extreme respect for Sir Jony and the LoveFrom team. On the other hand.. the gut feeling that this feels more like a prius than a sporty, desirable, groundbreaking $640k Ferrari EV at first glance. Even the sounds used in the reveal video feel more like Apple DNA than Ferrari

Ferrari has just officially unveiled its first ever all-electric car, called the Ferrari Luce. • Starting price: $640,000 • Interior co-designed with Apple's former head of design, Jony Ive • Range: 280 miles (expected EPA) • Peak charging speed: 350kW • 122 kWh battery • 1,050 horsepower • 0-60mph: 2.4s • 800v • Four-door four-seater • Four electric motors • OLED screens • Weight: 4,982 lbs • Front motors spin to 30,000 rpm, rears hit 25,500 rpm • Car uses an accelerometer to capture real vibrations from the electric motors & rear chassis. An algorithm filters out unpleasant frequencies and amplifies only the more “musical” sounds. This can be heard inside and outside the car. • Paddle shifter on steering wheel changes how aggressively torque is delivered, with five different levels • The trunk has 21.1 cubic feet of space, the largest luggage capacity the company has ever offered • 197.6 inches long, about as long as a Tesla Model S U.S. deliveries start in Q2 2027. La Ferrari Luce è un insulto estetico e tecnologico per chi ama la Ferrari o, come nel mio caso, ci ha lavorato. Complimenti a #Elkann che dopo aver semidistrutto o alienato Marelli, Comau, Iveco, Fiat, Alfa, Maserati, Lancia, Scuderia Ferrari, Juventus, Repubblica e Stampa ci prova ora con Ferrari. E non era facile.

@niccruzpatane Even if it actually had the best drag coefficient, whatever logic is behind the Luce’s design... there is something wrong with where we've ended up. They fixated so much on the details that they completely lost the big picture.

Ferrari said the goal of the Luce EV’s design was to achieve the lowest coefficient of drag. The Luce has a 0.254 Cd. For some comparison: • Model S: 0.208 Cd • Model 3: 0.219 Cd • Model Y: 0.23 Cd • Model X: 024 Cd Just proves that having the lowest possible Cd doesn’t mean you have to design an ugly car.
