In my view, India has one of the weakest Finance Ministers we’ve seen. States continue piling up debt with little transparency on spending, fiscal discipline appears missing, and inflation keeps hurting ordinary people. For the last 12 years, it feels less like having a Finance Minister focused on economic relief and more like having a revenue collector focused only on taxes. Public accountability on inflation, debt, and spending cannot be ignored. @FinMinIndia

Booked a Tatkal Sleeper ticket today from kanpur central to New Delhi. Filled every detail in seconds, but IRCTC kept showing- "We are experiencing high load." Tried repeatedly, Then my ID got locked out. Minutes later, every seat was gone. So the question is - who actually gets these Tatkal tickets? Genuine passengers or a system designed to fail common people every morning? If lakhs of users face the same "high load" issue daily, why has it still not fixed it? Petrol Diesel price has been raised, because oil making companies were making losses due to higher crude oil price. Right now crude oil is around $100 but when crude oil price were around $60-70 and OMC were making profits due to it, consumer price were not reduced. On top of that when Ethanol 20 petrol were sold at the same price of 100% pure petrol and companies were making profit, it wasn't passed to consumer either. Their profit is their profit but their loss is your loss.

One single decision to extract taxes thru LTCG, STCG and STT has led to Rupee underperforming every single currency even Pakistan and Bangladesh. Finally what happened ? Due to bearish market government did not get any STCG or LTCG. STT declined due to less transactions. But the main damage happened due to FII pulling out 4.5 lac cr in last 4 yr with almost 2 lac cr in just 4 months of 2026. Rupee has suffered massive damage and declining every day putting pressure on foreign exchange reserves. Now the train has left the station. India badly needs the war to end and crude to go down to $60 else we will slowly grind in this range of 22000 to 25000. Mr. Puri, your OWN government’s data exposes you completely. You say oil companies are losing ₹1,000 crore/day because crude went from $64 to $115. But here’s what you’re hiding: - When crude was $115, you FROZE prices for 137 days straight in 2022; because 5 states were going to elections - When crude FELL back to $75–80, you still didn’t pass on the relief - March 2024: crude still at $80+, you cut ₹2/litre; not for relief, for Lok Sabha votes - Meanwhile IOCL + BPCL + HPCL posted ₹81,000 crore RECORD profit in FY24 (PIB’s own data) - Modi govt collected ₹38.89 LAKH CRORE in fuel taxes since 2014 The “under-recovery” isn’t because of crude prices. It’s because you weaponised fuel pricing for elections for 10 years, and now the bill has arrived. Who will pay for it? Not BJP. Not Hardeep Puri. The same ₹100/litre petrol-buying Indian who already paid ₹38 lakh crore in taxes.

रूस से सस्ता तेल लेकर खूब मलाई चांपी है तेल कंपनियों ने, लगभग 100 करोड़ प्रतिदिन मुनाफा कमाया है। और अब तेल मंहगा होने पर घाटा होने का रोना रो रहे हैं, जबकि सरकार ने इंपोर्ट ड्यूटी भी घटा दी है। इन सबके बावजूद भी तेल का रेट बढ़ा तो समझो कि सरकार सिर्फ उद्योगपतियों की है।

This govt is going through policy paralysis. > Introduced SGB to discourage public from buying physical gold > Reduced import duty on Gold from 15 to 6% when SGB redemption was coming, public lost 9% straight > Added tax to initially tax free SGB from Secondary market > Now again when people were looking to buy SGB instead of Physical Gold to support rupees, increased import duty. Same with LTCG, STCG and STT. > LTCG was zero, this Govt first increased to 10% then 12.5% > STCG was increased from 15% to 20% > STT increased from 0.01% to 0.15% in different levels. FII kept leaving because they can't take double loss, one with falling rupees and other with increased taxation. This added further weakness to rupees. Govt is unclear what they want to do, only thing they are clear about, how to win elections after elections. There is no loophole in that.

We are living in a country where people are forced to pay 31.2% Income Tax and 5% to 28% GST just to fund salaries of brainless Ministry of @EduMinOfIndia ministers and employees who can’t even conduct national exams like NEET properly. Absolute shameful situation and complete failure of accountability. Resign immediately, @dpradhanbjp , if you really feel even 1% responsible for this mess.

Don’t be misguided. The rupee isn’t falling because the innocent common man is buying cooking oil or gold for his sister’s future. The rupee is falling because FIIs have sold ₹2 lakh crore worth of Indian stocks in 2026 alone and don’t intend to stop anytime soon. Instead of asking innocent people to struggle in public buses, please stop your rallies, come to the office, and abolish STT, LTCG, and STCG on an urgent basis.
