We might just automate/build all the software we use to run Clapstore, except the payment ones, as they need government mandates.

Discovered a new scam! A scammer poses as a potential client and requests a meeting at the target's office for the very next day, mentioning that it's a 6-7 hour drive. The next day, he sends a photo of a crashed vehicle and claims he is getting the vehicle repaired, which is costing him approximately ₹2 lakh. He states he forgot his ATM cards, exhausted his UPI limit, and is falling short of just ₹5-10k to pay the mechanic. He promises to repay once he reaches the office. This has happened to us a few times. Thankfully, we didn’t fall for it. Stay alert!

Agrograde, an agri-tech startup incubated at the Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation (CIIF), Chitkara University, is redefining the way fruits and vegetables are graded and traded. The startup has also received seed funding support of ₹1,11,000 from Chitkara University.

@aviralbhat Yet they are the most active in voicing opinions which also creates echo chambers at times. People who have no nuance about what the challenges majority of the middle/lower classes go through, project their opinions and solutions on them.

It's a good time to remember that India's statistical middle class is 2L INR / year, not per month 50% of India by percentile is at this number, which is what a gig worker earns in India People earning 2L per month are in India's top 1% and not "middle class"

Earth isn’t just getting brighter—some areas are brightening and others are dimming because of changes in nighttime lights. The finding comes from analyzing 1.16 million NASA satellite images taken every night for nine years.

This applies to farm labour too. The prices and the supply chain is still trying to function on 200-250₹/day. Labour is moving away from these low pay jobs. And it's not going to be a 10-20% increase rather almost 80% increase in expected pay. The food supply chain is getting hit hard.

It’s absolutely crazy that no one on twitter knows that u cannot get anyone to work for you at 10 to 12k per month. You cannot even get a helper that cannot read and just lifts boxes at 12k. Every semi skilled worker is easily getting the 18k range.

@vinodchendhil This is also because it's easier to spot spongy tissue and other defects in ripened mangoes. Convenience too. Spongy tissue identification is a huge problem in mangoes.

I have a prototype for a consumer appliance/device (energy segment) which I would like to take into production. Would love to talk to those who may have done this successfully in India. Thank you

People have asked us itemised quotes for indigenous machines. The mentality of "cost plus" tractic for purchase & negotiation usually gets the buyer a vendor offering 2x power consuming motors, more metal than necessary, BUT nothing on the design and performance as they can't be evaluated on paper. Usually the purchase ends up in regret for the buyer in cases where design and software is of critical importance.

Nobody asks China for a price breakdown of the manufactured goods. Every single time, it's asked by Indian clients and then they scrutinise every single line item like they personally know the costs of everything (they actualy DO NOT)

Refurbished European machines and reverse engineered Indian machines, both have been lucrative markets for Indian manufacturers. But this fails when the usecase and nuances don't match what the original machine was designed for. There's a reason why only a select few SPM players are sought after for critical jobs. Reverse engineering may get you orders from aspirational buyers but this usually damages the design DNA of the company. The company gets limited to a cost plus model. - NPD gets limited to customisation - Can't foresee challenges/product failure points - No long term plan - Overselling based on what the original manufacturer claims

Most people: source from China. Rajkot guys: bring the machine home, reverse engineer it, build an Indian version, find clients, iterate, and own it. There's a reason Gujarat punches above its weight in manufacturing.

Lead time misrepresentation is very common. This results in someone from the client's team getting anxious and clicking the panic button everyday. Corners get cut, team gets overworked, attention to details becomes secondary, testing is skipped, almost a perfect recipe for issues to arise post shipping. The costs of consequences are not worth it for both the manufacturer and the client. Good communication wins this game and retails the clients long-term.

Startup founder to vibe code Zoho on Claude due to disappointment.
Pritesh Lakhani@priteshlakhani

Hi @svembu Sir We have been true cheerleaders for Zoho since the early days. We recommend it, build on it, and trust it with our business. That is why this is difficult to write. Since last year, some of our open issues are still unresolved. New ones are not getting attention. We have tagged senior leaders, followed up patiently, and tried every channel we know. We still believe in your vision. That has not changed. But when issues directly impact revenue every single day, it becomes hard to explain to our team, our customers, and our shareholders. We are not here to complain. We are here to fix this. Please guide us on how to get things moving the right way.

@imDhananjay In new markets, adjacent opportunities can often seem lucrative. It is tough to not give in to the FOMO and resisting the shiny objects at the initial stages.

One of the most underrated founder skills is the ability to say No. As you build, you will constantly see revenue opportunities - custom features, new geographies, partnerships. Some requiring minimal effort, others more involved. The temptation is real. But every “yes” comes with a hidden cost of diluted focus. In the early days, winning is about obsessing over the one thing you believe in and becoming undeniably great at it. The moment you start chasing adjacent opportunities, someone else with sharper focus will outcompete you at your own core. At NeoSapien, we are often asked why we haven’t aggressively shipped overseas yet. The answer is simple, we want to be the best in one market first. That means nailing supply, product experience, and after-sales, all of which vary deeply by geography. A few scattered sales across countries might look good on paper, but they don’t build real presence or long-term advantage.

@ShivrattanDhil1 We work very closely with the potato processing sector in Gujarat and Punjab. Lack of primary and secondary processing infrastructure is a huge problem. We need more plants near production clusters to pass on the benefits to the farmers.

Small packs of French fries sell for ₹70–100, yet this year we farmers are forced to sell a 50 kg bag of potatoes for barely ₹250. Just imagine the gap. The real issue is that Punjab still doesn’t have enough food processing plants. I personally cultivate potatoes on around 100 acres every year, and in my village alone, nearly 1,600 acres are under potato farming by my siblings. Despite such large-scale production, there’s no proper processing facility. No one even talks about it seriously. Earlier, we used to sell potatoes for ₹1,000–1,200 per bag. Today, the prices have crashed, and farmers are suffering. I would wholeheartedly welcome any businessman or company willing to set up a food processing plant here. I truly hope this message reaches someone in the food processing industry. We are ready. Let’s build something that benefits farmers and businesses alike! I sincerely urge Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal as the intellectual leader you are to take up this issue. Sir, during your visit on 28th February please consider announcing a food processing plant for our constituency. When you are in power, such a step would greatly benefit farmers like us and strengthen our rural economy! 👍🏻 @MOFPI_GOI @officeofssbadal @ChouhanShivraj @iChiragPaswan @HarsimratBadal_
