@SaraJChipps I recommend keeping them in separate rooms for at least 2 weeks, esp if your older cat is upset near the room where the new cat is. My 8 y/o and 1 y/o female cats now enjoy each others company but fight a lot (which is normal). It's keeping my older cat stimulated and active!

How can you tell if your cat wants a friend? Tea is an older girl cat and we were thinking of getting a young boy cat to be her friend but will she hate him?
