@stottpie @Cheetowunga Or communicate like a normal human being, tell them everything you went through, how far you drove, and ask if they would be willing to atleast cover travel/lodging cost. I’m 1000% sure all he has to do is ask.

@AJ_Lich Unfortunately none of us have any real intel, but there’s clearly a divide where some fans think we’d look for a RHH backup, and some think we’ll look for a RHH starter. Given the way we’ve operated this year, and now on Year 3 of Wells, I’m firmly believing we want a starter

@RyanGarciaESM @crny02 Two awful weeks of baseball, with some good play against bad teams in between. Very concerned this offense is going to let us down once again, need to find bats at the trade deadline big time if Jazz/Wells/Grish/McMahon keep this up. Less worried about Grish but still

@YankeeSource Do you expect the Yankees to more heavily target offense in the upcoming draft? It’s great to have pitching demons but we NEED the offense. Or maybe they’ve realized they’re poor at identifying strong offensive players and can trade pitching prospects for offense instead?

Eric Reyzelman just threw the hardest pitch of his career. The Yankees have some bullpen weapons in the making. 100.2 mph.

@BarstoolHubbs Sounds like Boone intends to keep Cabby the starter, unless Volpe forces his hand. Team has shown us enough thru first 6+ weeks to indicate that they’re operating differently this year

Here's my question. Let's say Volpe shows no signs of anything different up here and the defense is mediocre, when Caballero is healthy and returns, what happens? Would they send Volpe back down in that scenario or does Caballero go back to being a utility guy? I fear the latter.

@RyanGarciaESM Goalpost for me hasn’t moved. Yankees have a massive catcher problem, we don’t just need a RHH C for the bench. We need a RHH starting C. Wells has until end of June before I put him firmly in the “bust” category. 1st round pick smh

Incredible that the goalposts on offense have moved from “the Yankees don’t have a good lineup” to “they don’t have enough depth” to “they don’t hit enough singles”

@ChrisCoop_ Way more concerned about Wells. First round pick, was supposed to be a middle of the lineup bat, and he’s never been more than average offensively for us. More often, he’s been below average. If it doesn’t turn by July, he’s officially a bust and Yankees need to move on

All of this meaningless talk about singles and the records against teams >= .500 aside, I feel like a legitimate concern to start having is the season long outlook of the lineup if Jazz and Austin Wells aren't going to start barreling baseballs. Trent Grisham has got strong underlying data and has been one of the unluckiest hitters in the sport, so I don't include him in this. - Austin Wells has been one of the unluckier guys in the sport as well and even through his last 100 PAs has a .322 xwOBA which is fine given how good his defense is. But the majority of this is coming from his outstanding 16.8% BB rate, his biggest issue from last year that he finally fixed...but seemingly at the expense of a now underwhelming barrel% of 5.8% and a weaker propensity to hit balls in the air, going from a 33% GB rate to a 42% GB rate this year. - Jazz Chisholm, who had an .813 OPS with 31 HRs and 31 SBs last year, is now barreling the baseball at a 6.1% clip compared to last year's 15.0% rate. That is a HUGE difference. These are two very, very important guys that lengthen out the lineup when they're on one. They extend that Grish-Rice-Judge-Belli-Stanton top 5 to 7 batters that are able to barrel out the baseball at any at bat. It changes the way pitchers go about attacking the lineup and it makes a difference going from having 7-8 guys that can beat you over the head with the longball to 2 fewer. It's still early and both still have the physical strength to get back to hitting nukes, but it's definitely a concern for me through a month and two weeks of the season to see this becoming a trend.

@BobbyMilone29 This type of loss is garbage. Not losing my mind, but this is garbage and it’s because our bullpen is garbage and needs retooling. Call up LaGrange and put him in the bullpen. Make a move for a bullpen piece or two. Do something.

@ChrisCoop_ At a certain point, it’s no longer “they’re just a few mechanical tweaks away” and the convo shifts to “it’s been months (or years) of these guys being unable to make consistent tweaks, they’re just not quality players”. I’m 98% there w Wells, he’s Austin Smells for me right now

Doing daily takeaways about baseball game leads you down a rabbit hole of saying a lot of vibes-based things, so I try not to give like official thoughts on things after every game. With that being said, here's some of my cumulative thoughts 1.5 months in: 🔹Top of the order absolutely rocks. A lineup with Judge, Rice, Belli, Stanton will always have a strong backbone to bang in runs off of. I think Grisham's ABs cumulatively looked fine and he'll get things going eventually. I think Jazz is in his head about 50-50 and I feel like he's some mechanical tweaks off getting back to normal production again. I would be lying if I said I wasn't sort of concerned about the way his ABs have looked early on, but I think he's too talented and a few mechanical adjustments off right now. And I think Wells' data + bad luck has combined for some uglier than should be results that I think will improve. I think he's just getting under the ball more than usual, a guy I think still finding his swing. It's encouraging that he fixed the one problem that plagued him all of last year...now he just needs to start hitting the ball in the air more like he's always done. Goldy/Rosario are bats with promising bench upside that have done their jobs well 🔹The rotation and the depth for the rotation is just friggin elite. There will be the inevitable Max Fried blisters in the Summer, Cole/Rodon might take a little bit to adjust back to pitching, but holyyy Weathers/Warren/Schlittler and Fried have looked fantastic so far. Results and data support them being an elite rotation. 🔹The pen is obviously quesitonmark central but I think: Bednar, Headrick, and Hill have been absolute nails Fernando Cruz is such a tough watch right now and I don't enjoy the high variance outcomes across his outings but I am definitely not out on him yet Doval/Bird are confusing. I thought both would be complete nails this year coming out the gate, but both suffer the same problem of hanging well-shaped sweepers/sliders middle middle for damage. I'm more confident with Doval than Bird because his outings are always just foiled from one specific hanging slider. I think once this team moves one of the starters to the pen, possibly adds from AA/AAA to its current pen, and works some magic at the deadline, there will be a good Yankee bullpen.

@BoSoxFanDMG @Yankees @StarrCompanies Sure, but he got called up. So that’s done and we have to analyze the lineup decisions with that in mind. They have to give him some run, especially now that we’re facing easier pitching cause having to start off facing MIL was brutal for him

@Yankees @StarrCompanies I hope Spencer Jones turns into an all-star one day. But at this point, if anyone thinks he gives the Yankees a better chance to win right now verses Rosario or Goldy in the lineup, you are looking thru “rose colored Yankee” glasses. Sorry, but IMO, that is the honest truth.

@Landofillusion1 @Teamhumanitygo2 @QueenAnticommie So 99% of takeout I do is ordered online. So let’s scratch the first two. The other things are valid but take very little time, and often I pick up orders without the sauce included, missing utensils or napkins, etc. As such, I usually tip a few dollars but not more than that

Takeout from a sit-down restaurant still takes labor. A server or bartender often has to answer the phone, enter the order, check it, package it, add sauces/utensils, cash it out, and hand it off, usually while also taking care of tables. It may not require the same tip as dining in, but acting like “no service happened” is not accurate. A few dollars or 10% on a larger order is just basic courtesy.

@UFO_UFC I had it 2-2 going into 5 because taira was able to rally it back in the last minute of round 3. A 10-8 would have seen taira continue to get dominated to the bell in the round but seeing as Van tired himself out going for the choke that did not happen

If you had Van-Taira scored 38-38 going into round 5 you gotta realize your judging is flawed. The amount of damage and near finishes for Van has to be worth much more than the grappling positions from Taira. I had rd 3 10-8 and Van winning 4 too

🚨Kamaru Usman doesn’t understand how Khamzat Chimaev lost the fight "When one guy is constantly marching forward, throwing jabs, mixing in overhands, getting takedowns, and doing that for almost five rounds, I don’t see how he loses the fight. The other guy was backing up and jabbing the whole time." via: @pound4poundshow
MMA Pros Pick@MMA_PROS_PICK_

Henry Cejudo thought that Khamzat Chimaev won the fight 🤔 "I thought Khamzat Chimaev actually won this fight. And again, I was rooting for Sean Strickland. Khamzat made the mistake when he went for the takedown [ In the second round ]. Once you get hurt and start shooting for takedowns, bro, that’s not good. It could’ve gone 4-1 Chimaev or maybe 3-2 Chimaev. via: @pound4poundshow
