I’m still listening.
I’m working closely with the Trump administration to ensure that any federal land sales serve the American people—not foreign governments, not the Chinese Communist Party, and not massive corporations looking to pad their portfolios.
This land must go to American families. Period.

SCOOP: Huge news for western states. The Senate parliamentarian has ruled that Sen. Mike Lee’s proposal to allow the sale of millions of acres of federal land fails to comply with the Byrd Rule. Montana/Idaho GOP senators have said they oppose it as well.
I’m told this decision will be included in the batch of Byrd rulings slated to be released overnight tonight.

The average home in Utah is $540k.
You can deport all the Illegal immigrants and it may reduce that by $100k.
Now what? It is still $400k for a shack, the Californians are still moving here, and native Utahns are leaving.

This is necessary to demonstrate that the US government’s $125 trillion in natural resources has value and can be sold.
With the US government’s debt to revenue ratio and interest payments at $1 trillion, the only thing (other than the war machine) backing the US govt is assets.
The US govt backs treasuries and the US dollar.
Demonstrating these assets are marketable is the only way to demonstrate a positive fiscal position and prevent a debt spiral.

Here is an incredible proposal by @SenMikeLee.
This would direct the US Government to sell land for the explicit purpose of increasing our housing supply. It includes the appropriate protections for National parks and the like.
This is a no brainer win-win.
US Government collects revenues they can direct to paying down our debt while increasing the supply of land that can help decrease housing prices and increase the number of homeowners.
Pass this now!!

If you get top dollar for any of this it would not be a drop in the bucket of the national debt. it does not include protections for many areas that the average American uses for their favorite place to hunt,fish, bike, etc. this is a disgusting land grab.

Lee isn’t proposing to auction off Yellowstone or pave over Yosemite. He’s talking about 3 million acres — that’s less than half of 1% of the federal estate. It’s remote, hard to access, and often mismanaged. dlvr.it/TLStHn

I want to be COMPLETELY clear:
My bill exempts ALL parks, monuments, wilderness areas, etc., from the federal land sale. We exempt 15 categories of land, including land where people have valid existing rights. And even then, it's less than ONE PERCENT of federal land.
This is to help American families afford a home.
Read the language for yourself, & don't fall for the scams (& some honest mistakes) pushed by some.

@SenMikeLee NO ONE is worried about National parks. We are worried about the very vaguely defined “under utilized lands”.
Also, what about the special provision for purchasing more than two tracts if you already own land bordering the some checkerboard pattern lands? Stop gaslighting us.
