@Sadie_NC @Carmilla5 We spoke about being offended in class. I posted this in the class chat. I was asked to remove it because someone was offended

Trump, eyeing a tractor: “I assume it’s a gift to me. Can you imagine if I accepted that? A Democrat could accept — we’re not allowed to.” Trump accepted a $400 million luxury jet from Qatar. You can't make this up.

@AmandaLee93451 Unfortunately, like every Australian industry, high costs and wages push it overseas. We can not compete

@JacintaAllanMP Since there is no public transport available to me, and I travel over 80km per day for work, can I submit a reimbursement?

We’re making public transport free across Victoria from 31 March until the end of April to take pressure off the pump.

The Victorians most adversely affected by high fuel prices don’t have access to public transport. Now their taxes will be subsidising tens of millions in free fares for those who do have the option of public transport. #springst

@Tw_timerAlder @TheRealRolfster While you are correct, they are cheaper. But if you are not in the market to purchase one, it's cheaper to keep your ICE. My situation, to purchase an EV under novated leasing, a similarly sized EV, I will break even in nearly 8 years

@TheRealRolfster They actually save you money Ray. If you left your ideology to one side for a minute you would see lots of affordable smaller EVs and second hand EVs available. If you don’t want one fine. Keep paying high petrol prices and wasting money.

Can anyone tell me why so many people on X complain about high energy prices but are quite happy to fill an ICE car with expensive petrol and insist they never ever buy an EV despite the EV being about 5x cheaper to fuel and run 🤷‍♂️ Should we take these people seriously?

@BethanyCherisse The problem is, Australian economics dictates that this would result in increased fuel prices. The refineries closed due to running and maintenance costs and international competition.

Australia produces up to 398,000 barrels of crude oil per day. If we stopped exporting our crude oil, had the 6 major refineries closed since 2012 re-opened, and combined that with the imports still being received - we wouldn't run out of fuel. Why won't the government do this?

@HQuarterma44846 EVs have achieved price parity now with ICE vehicles. There are plenty of options cheaper than a Toyota Corolla. 😍

Trump’s reckless war in Iran means punters are paying up to $240 to fill an 80L tank with diesel at the moment. But not me. Charging my EV’s 80KW battery is free when the sun’s shining and $8 when it’s not!👇🏽

I'm looking at switching to an EV. Here's the thing: after running the numbers on current fuel prices, my weekly kilometres, and the drive-away price of a similar-sized EV under a novated lease, it's still cheaper to keep my current ICE vehicle for the next 8 years.

@Ispeek4me @JacintaAllanMP WFH changed the game. Claims increased, but employers can’t control the home. Managing risk now means clear policies, defined workspaces, self-assessments & evidence of work-related activity.

Three hours in the car every day. The cost of petrol hurting the weekly budget. Less time with family. This is a story a Victorian parent told us through our work from home survey. And it's why we're protecting your right to work from home two days a week in law from September 1.
