@localteaparty avoiding as much as possible/limiting has been helpful. like choosing tofu over paneer for example. I still have coffee with milk only. Yoghurt/curd/milk has been fine. Paneer and cheese are where things screw up badly

@lavsmohan Does staying away help you get tolerant over time? I am never able to completely avoid it

Avoided sugar and dairy for more than a decade. Got healthy, fit and started training a little seriously. Now I eat three tablespoons of marmalade before runs and down a chocolate milkshake after. nutrition science is really cruel

@PoetArora Yeah - sugar/carbs is fuel, essentially. Of course, this is only if and when you're doing highly strenuous work like running 10K+ kms in the heat, have tough hybrid workouts etc.

@Nattu_G @dinesh_anat Yes it’s written for women :) and I agree with your analysis that men can’t afford breaks, but household expectations & dependencies are also fewer/nil. Ultimately the decision needs to be taken by both parties in the relationship.

Gout Gout was at Ipswich Grammar School to play soccer. He had never trained as a sprinter. He was twelve years old, wearing sand shoes, and somebody told him to line up for a race at the school carnival. The kid next to him was wearing spikes. He had won nationals. Gout left him in the dust. His classmate Tyson Walker was in the race too. "Everyone there stopped and watched," Walker recalled. That record had stood for 56 years. Usain Bolt saw the footage, posted a photo, and wrote "He looks like young me." The Bolt comparison is worth sitting with. Bolt didn't race 100 meters professionally until he was 21. His first professional 100m was 10.03. Gout Gout ran 10.00 flat at 18. And his coach still only puts him in the gym two days a week. She's managing the fact that his body is still growing. The power phase of his development hasn't started. He is running these times on stride length and raw top-end speed alone. His parents are Dinka, from South Sudan. They fled to Egypt, then to Australia, two years before he was born. Third of seven children. The family name was misspelled during transliteration from Arabic. It was supposed to be Guot. His father has been trying to change it back because "gout" is a disease name. The kid kept running. The fastest man in Australian history started in sand shoes at a school carnival. Nobody told him to stop.

@kirthikasrajan That’s so true! I think men - individually - don’t really care/are happy about it, but the feedback they get from their social circles ends up getting to their heads (like being told she’ll disrespect you/she’ll control you/you’re lesser etc)

@lavsmohan I've also noticed they get conflicted - they feel proud about flipping the script, having a woman that earns more, but that also feels confronting to them once things get serious, as they are ultimately not fulfilling an important marker of masculinity handed to them.

Young (or otherwise) people who are dating or on the apps: How important is money to you in a relationship? And is the answer something you’re comfortable sharing with your present relationship/bumble/hinge matches?

@osthimaamu That’s actually a good idea. In arranged marriages this information was always upfront.
