She was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), one of the most painful conditions known and often called the ‘suicide disease’. Doctors say there is no cure, the pain will likely be permanent, and she is now permanently unfit for work. The assault has left her unable to drive, forced her to give up her career and hobbies such as running and CrossFit. Sophie is currently pregnant with her first child and relies on invalidity payments.
