According to court records, Pagel repeatedly called her aunt in a hysterical state saying she wanted to kill her 6 yo son and use his skin for her own body because her legs were “dirty.” Her aunt told police she arrived and found Pagel actively skinning the small dog, Evie, and eating pieces of the skin. A necropsy found head trauma, a severe leg laceration, and signs consistent with drowning/asphyxiation. Her criminal history: • 2014: Marijuana possession under 2 ounces → deferred adjudication/probation • 2015: Marijuana possession under 2 ounces → convicted, served 2 days in jail • 2024: Felony injury to a child with intentional bodily injury (domestic violence case involving her son) → placed on 2 years deferred adjudication in January 2025 She was discharged EARLY from felony probation on March 30, 2026. Less than one month later, prosecutors say she tortured and killed her dog and made threats about killing her son. The DA requested a $200,000 bond. Judge Beverly Armstrong set it at just $20,000. A child was previously harmed. A dog was tortured to death. Violent threats were made again. And somehow the system looked at all of that and decided $20,000 was enough. @LoneStarChica

Thomas Massie has received some of the finest endorsements any Republican candidate would envy in the past few days: - The New York Times - Ro Khanna - Cenk Uygur Rosie O’Donnell’s endorsement is imminent, I’m sure.

I do think Massie started out in public service for the right reasons and doing the right things. In March of 2012 he signed an oath to support term limits. He violated the first promise he made- to only serve 3 terms. He even wanted to make that law. He’s now running for his 8th term. The swamp consumed him.

I was walking in the Waukesha Christmas parade with my son when violent, repeat offender Darrell Brooks Jr. plowed his car through the parade route – a parade themed “Comfort and Joy.” It resulted in 6 deaths and more than 60 injuries. Just 5 days after being released on an “inappropriately low” bail – despite a lengthy and violent criminal history – he committed this evil act. I thank God that my family was safe, but my heart remains broken for the victims and their families. When I tell you I will fight to hold repeat violent offenders accountable, I mean it. This was a case where the consequence of failure hit far too close to home.
