My kid left yesterday for Iran. Before we hung up, he wanted to discuss his life insurance policy. He’s 19. It gutted me. War isn’t a joke. It’s not something C rate celebs should be making controversial statements about for attention. Shame on you @EW for running this drivel.

All these wholesome Japanese posts are being used as an attempt at behavioral modification of the unruly American online conduct.
The idea is to see all this positive and happy Japanese content do big numbers, and in response, Americans will mimic this demeanor to try to satisfy their desire for more interactions.

Performing CPR on a 99 year old is undignified.
There are some things that the public needs to see first hand to realise the reality - CPR is effectively legalized GBH. The countless bones I've broken performing CPR and those people are returned to their families for funerals...

When my grandmother was 99 she had a pacemaker fitted. They flew her to Wellington for the operation. Before they went the guy asked her if she wanted to be resuscitated. She said yes. The guy then asked her again, explaining that it can cause quite painful injuries. She was a completely capable woman of full mental capacity and said yes she understood and please resuscitate her if she needed it. He then asked her a third time, telling her that her quality of life might be different. At that point, my grandmother turned to my father and asked “What does he want me to say?” and Dad then intervened telling the now very defensive guy to knock it off. That kind of low level pressure happens in the health system every day.

No, losing an aircraft is not always serious.
Anyone who gives a flying fuck about losing an MQ-9 needs to get their head checked, and crashing an F-16 is only moderately embarrassing.
Losing an E-3 is ‘deadly serious’ — that’s like USAF getting one of the fingers it needs to control its flying death machines chopped off.

Losing an aircraft is always serious, but I wonder how animated these X account would be if they knew the U.S. loses ~25 aircraft a year in training accidents. Context matters. The implication that Iran is inflicting catastrophic losses on the U.S. is laughable. It also undercuts the argument that “they’re lying” when you share several 4k photos of an incident less than 24 hours old in the exact same post. If the military is playing hide-the-ball, they’re doing a terrible job.
