@allenanalysis Trump's style is to tweak the Left, to get them off balance. He is't seriously considering running for a third term, and if he did, there's no chance his base would support him.

Chris Coons then asked every nominee in the room to confirm the Constitution bars a third term. Silence. Every single one of them refused to say it. Trump is appointing judges who won’t affirm the 22nd Amendment to his face. Never stop connecting the dots.

okay so i think the boomer conversational trait at the root of many problems is a total failure to even attempt to model whether the people around them care about what they’re saying. they tell the same old stories 100x and deep down they definitely know you’ve heard it, but it just feels so good to be talking that they go for it. in the absence of the thought process “would this person enjoy hearing this story?” the only factor that matters is how it feels for them to talk. same thing for the constant narration of everything that’s happening and the constant questions about tiny stuff and the random pieces of mundane information about ppl you don’t know. toddlers do the same thing before they develop complete theory of mind. idk if this is the consequence of some sort of old age cognitive regression or if boomers were just socialized really poorly.

The actual derangement is the people who don’t realize Obama is broadly popular, well-liked, and remembered fondly and was extremely popular on the day he left office as well. Not a perfect president or a flawless administration but better than all the other ones.

@darioperkins I will take the other side and sum it up thus: AIT. He managed to surpass Yellen into 2nd worst chair of my adult life. In the short run he is adored by asset managers and legislators for supporting them. Longer term the societal damage he presided over is generational.

This is going to annoy people (sorry...) but Powell is gonna be remembered as a hero at the Fed. Got inflation back down, delivered a soft landing, and stood up to enormous political pressure. Probably leaving at just the right time 🤣
