Workers, organized labour, MUST be part of this interim government, or we will end up with another round of crony capitalism, and a development model that feeds the rich. #Bangladesh 🇧🇩

We should all take pause in this moment. Politicians use past social movements as photo ops while decrying current social movements. Our forbearers of the movement have warned us about this.

I hope a lesson people take away from the BPD sweeps of peaceful protesters at Emerson this morning is that criminalizing poverty and homelessness is an erosion of everyone’s civil rights.

It's very important to understand the politics of joy and the role of loud and unapologetic joy in resistance struggles. Audre Lorde's and bell hook's work is anchored in joy during resistance. Someone once said: if joy is not part of your revolution, I don't want none of it.

Don’t underestimate the level to which everything around you is designed to make you NOT see how horrific this genocide is. It is by design. That’s how genocides work. You look around & the regular “justice” ppl are equivocating, silent, or cheering on? That’s how genocides work.

Multinational fashion brands @ZARA @Gap @OldNavy say they can’t pay their workers $200 a month like they are striking for. Living costs have risen quickly. The government is now subsidizing the companies profits by providing ration cards so they workers can have enough to eat.
Naomi Hossain@nomhossain

If the industry cannot afford to pay workers enough for them to eat, perhaps there is a problem with the management? Just a thought, ⁦@brandbgmea⁩ 🇧🇩 asia.nikkei.com/Politics/Bangl…
