All I want for Christmas is proper progressive blur support in Figma... I know there are plugins out there, but the hit on file performance (in my experience) has been pretty severe.

@prekesh__ Might hire it over Christmas using the hireacamera deal and see how I feel properly using it. Cheers for the insight.

@prekesh__ How do you find the X100VI. Find the size of my Sony A7III often puts me off picking it up and keep trying to convince myself to perhaps even just switch to something smaller like this.

@leckie @Spotify Seems to be a temp glitch where it wasn't appearing. I complained too soon.

Discovered that @Spotify removed the ability to see and control what is playing cross device from any other signed in Spotify app. This was so useful and sad to see the feature lost.

@2022Honesty @MikeB2023 Which ones? Pretty much everyone I compared with recently was just over 24p. That’s not even considering smart tariffs.

Received two emails today - one from France saying that electric bills are going down "to follow the global trend of falling energy prices". I received another from my UK supplier telling me that prices are going up "due to the global cost of energy". We're being taken for mugs

@levelsio This video is about 6 years old. It's for moving stuff around in a port. They have an actual truck they announced a few days ago: youtu.be/6a6lH7n1s_M

@ugmonk I actually like how Peak Design/Patagonia etc do this. Manufacture abroad but very open on doing it well.

Interesting takeaway from this Gather discussion. People might say they care where a product is manufactured, but at the end of the day most are fine buying made in China if it means cheaper and the quality is still good. Example: Apple products and 99% of things you probably own.

@ugmonk It's always UK shipping that gets me (which I understand). With this product specifically though, I don't have my phone next to my bed anymore. A coaster and book/kindle stand would likely suit better.

@robhawkes Was absolutely cracking here. I’ve never seen it so visible to the naked eye in Scotland before.

Taking photos of the aurora definitely wasn't on my list of things I expected to do today 🤯 It's only just visible with the naked eye – these are using night mode on my iPhone, hand held

@_maximus @graphicpicnic It’s funny, I was just reading this “Maybe all generations look back with nostalgia”. I don’t think I did… I can never remember that feeling. Can absolutely see why they feel it though.

@graphicpicnic Interesting read!I feel my generation grew up pining for an imagined past too (I guess I’m a millennial?), so the sense of loss mentioned isn’t unique. But interesting to read how a different generation sees itself. Actually there’s a lot to unpick…I wish I still had a blog.

Yes the advance of technology and smartphones are game changing but I’m grateful that I grew up in a time where they didn’t exist.
